Hello readers! Join me on Story Time With Winter Madison as we read stories together. Story Time is a time to relax, snuggle with your favorite stuffed buddy or blanket, and listen to stories read by Winter Madison. In this episode of storytime, we followed A Little Spot as he learns what it means to go to school online and any rules and helpful tip s that involve online learning.

After each Story Time episode, we will have what's called Circle Time! Circle Time will focus on the books we read during our Storytime episode. A Circle Time will be posted for each episode of Story Time. During our Circle Time, we discuss topics such as self-esteem, trying new things, just for fun topics, and many more! Be sure to tune in to our Circle Time after each Storytime episode. (click the underlined words above to take you straight to this week's Storytime and circle time!)

Circle Time Notes:

Readers, are you currently going to school online? Can you relate to this story? What rules for you have at your school when learning online? Are there any rules that the book didn't cover that you can think of?

In our story, A Little Dot goes over some rules and helpful tips that everyone could use when learning online. Do you remember what rules and tips A Little Dot shared with us?

1. No PJ's! This will help you get your mind ready for school. Learning online is just like being in school, so we always want to make sure we dress appropriately.

2. Eat first! Make sure you eat before you start online learning. It's hard to concentrate and learn when you are hungry.

3. Be organized and prepared! Always have everything you need for school within reach. This can include your notebook, pencils, and anything else you need for school.

4. Go to the bathroom first! Always use the bathroom before signing on to school for the day to prevent any interruptions in your learning.

5. Find a comfortable place to sit! Find a comfortable place to sit, like at a desk. If you don't have a desk to work at don't worry! You can also sit at the kitchen table or anywhere that is appropriate to learn.

6. Create your quiet space! Make sure that your learning space is quiet and free from distractions. It's hard to learn with noise and other distractions around!

7. Look behind you! Always look behind you to make sure your background is appropriate. Remember your classmates and teacher can see your background! Do a bit of tidying up first if needed before school starts.

8. Look around you! Make sure all of your toys and clothes are put away! It's easier to learn in a space that is clean. Make sure all pets (if any) are in another room. You can see them after school!

9. Always be on time! Always sign on at least five minutes early to make sure that you are on time, and technical problems can be addressed before class. Sometimes we may hit some technical problems, so signing on early will help address these issues without being late for class.

10. Be ready to learn! Always make sure our:

a. EYES are watching

b. EARS are listening

c. MOUTH is quiet

d. HANDS are relaxed

e. BACK is straight, no slouching!

Word of the day! The word of the day is "learn". How many times does the word "learn" appear in the book? What do YOU think the word "learn" means? Can you think of similar words that also mean the same thing? Get your parent's help with clicking the underlined word to learn what the word "learn" means. Talk about the word of the day and how it relates to our story.

Let's make it fun! Let's put on our imagination hats! Imagine that you are a teacher who teaches students online. What would your class rules be? Draw a picture or write a story about what YOUR online learning environment would be like. Remember this is YOUR imagination! You can make your picture or story as creative and silly as you'd like!

Readers, we have come to the end of our circle time. Before we go, I'd like all of my readers to wrap their arms around themselves and give themselves a big, school-sized, hug! Take a deep breath, and let it out. Repeat after me: "I love me!" Let's do that again readers! Wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze really tight! Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Then repeat after me: "I love me!"

All of my readers can post their pictures and stories (with an adult's help!) on my official author's page on Facebook (Winter Madison) and on Instagram (winter_the_author).

Readers, do you have the book, "A Little Spot Learns Online", at home? Whenever we read a story during Storytime you can always follow along!

I hope my readers can join me on our newest adventure as we read "A Little Spot Learns Online" followed by Circle Time where we follow up with lessons from what we read. I look forward to reading with you!
