Pizza Anyone?

Let's start by setting the scene. It is December 24, 2o17. Christmas Eve was here at last. Everyone is at the Pretli family Christmas party, hosted at the Pretli's home, having a merry old time.

The house is a two-storey home with a basement. The main floor is where the party was taking place. This floor of the home has a powder room, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room and a foyer at the entrance and another small, quiet and cozy room located off of the previously mentioned foyer.

The house is lit by a wood-burning stove, in the living room. Attendees have drinks in hand. Outside however is a different story. It suddenly starts blizzarding. You cannot even see neighbours' houses or Christmas lights. The house is decorated to the gills for Christmas. There are at least three Christmas trees in the house. There is an entire lit-up Christmas village on the mantel. In addition, there are many festive wreaths around the house, all of which seemed to be colour-coordinated. Some may even be themed.

Guests began arriving around 4 p.m. all saying, "hello, and Merry Christmas."

The clock strikes 5 p.m. The doorbell rings. Pizza for dinner has arrived. All was going to plan or so everyone thought. Christine Pretli opens the door and sees the delivery driver. However, that is not all she sees. The delivery driver has not parked his work vehicle on the street or in the driveway, but on the front lawn.

When Christine sees this, she goes absolutely ballistic. This is what happens next.

"You know that is my front lawn right," said Christine.

"Oh, sorry, I did not realize I missed your driveway," said the delivery driver, with a heavy, sort of Italian sound accent with a pretty decent grasp of the English language.

The guests hear this commotion and lean in to hear what is going on and then proceed to run to windows that were facing the front of the house and see this small, red sedan sitting in the snow, on the front lawn.

"Your driveway was not clearly visible, it is snow-covered," he continued.

"Well, it is snowing out," Christine said.

The driveway had been shovelled several times already at this point by Christine's son, Jackson.

"I'm very sorry," he said.

"I will be contacting your employer and if there is any damage to the sprinkler system underneath the snow, you will be receiving a bill for repairs," Christine said.

Christine pays for the pizzas and the delivery driver leaves and drives off of the front lawn of the house.

Meanwhile, all of the guests are trying not to laugh or if they were laughing they were trying to disguise the fact that they were laughing.

Christine takes a few sips of red wine and tries to calm down a bit before she then proceeds to call the delivery driver's employer.

She explains what happened and again threatens to send the pizzeria a bill if the sprinkler system has any damage in the springtime.

At the time of writing, it is unknown if the pizzeria ever had to pay for repairs to the sprinkler system.

The party went on as normal more wine and of course, pizza was consumed.

Several different kinds of pizzas were ordered such as pepperoni and cheese, Greek, Hawaiian and vegetarian.

Christine did calm down eventually. Though, it should be said that it took a few hours to do so.

Of all the Christmas parties and other events hosted at this location in the years following this holiday gathering, none have been as eventful as this one.
