I raise two kids, 7 and 4. Things are going good in parenting, so let me share some tips.
Time to time, I take them trash picking in the neighborhood.
A trash bag and a pair of kitchen tongs.
There are many ways to feel good, do good, you all. Visiting shrine is not mandatory. Something valuable for the mother Earth is very virtuous act.
Agree?
Kids are the happiest in nature. All their senses are awake and pleased.
They are kind to each other.
Here the little boy is helping the elder sister to run faster, for I told there may be a coyote nearby.
Do them a favor. Take them to nature. Teach them about its elements. It’s good for everybody.

“Which is more glorious? To be daddy’s princess, or to be mommy’s warrior?”
Of course she chose the latter. She has proven that again and again.
She has given me more emotional support than most adults.
Yesterday, after watching some of my recorded reels, she even gave me feedback on my word choice.
Here, my cheers and salute to all mommy’s warriors out there. I know a lot of you have lost mother, but pine for her every day, and hope she is proud of you.
Truth is ‘gone means gone’, but the thought sure helps us keep going in ethical path.

Our creativity knows no bounds. We try to be creative with what we have got.
These are garden tomatoes.
The book is ‘Look Pretty with Nature Accessories’ paperback.

A serene morning in the garden, under the sunflower and cherry tomato vine, reading to the kids, ‘Pinocchio’ and ‘Red Riding Hood’, is peace.

Forager’s son at work. We are picking Carissa fruit. It’s spiny ground cover.
Most parents, including my spouse would tell the kids, “Don’t touch, there are thorns.”
I say, “Your ancestors did this all the time. No need to be delicate. Revive that sustainability skill. Put aside the thorny twig and pick the fruit.”
He did happily. Even when he got pricked once, he laughed, telling, “I should be more careful."

He just turned 4 few days back. Doing philately very happily. Talking Deutschland, Hitler, Jews, Anne Frank …
They just know, if the role model mother is doing means, it must be something good. I should do too..
That’s how as parent we lead by example.

Gift that will inspire. Smithsonian encyclopedia.
It’s a thrift book, just seven dollar, but the knowledge in it, is priceless.
The content is so amazing even an adult will be impressed.

I read somewhere that a mother’s heart is a child’s classroom. It’s very true.
In the morning, the children gave English vocabulary test and painted.
At midday, they are sorting international postage stamps.
In the evening, they give garden plant identification test.
In between lots and lots of wisdom sharing goes.
No summer camps, but mother is the best teacher. We agree.

As part of human storytelling, I tell them about all religions, but that’s that.
Nature is one true religion, I emphasize.
Hug the Chinese rain tree. Family Sapindaceae, relative of litchi, rambutan. Be curious.
We believe in organic evolution. How environmental factors created the large diversity of life on this blue planet.
It was not supposed to be only for humans.
Be mindful of that. Let your actions make sure, every creature thrives.
Proud of the teachings.

Kids are clueless about navigating life journey. They are looking up to us. We got to be the map. We got to lead them in a path right for them and fair for the world.
I shared my way above. I hope that you agree to many of them.
