Being a SAHM can be hard, but still makes a difference

Sometimes it takes looking deep within yourself to realize what your worth truly is. Although it might also be hard for others to see at times, being a stay-at-home mom is a very important and major commitment that not everyone can do. As a SAHM there are various tasks I must perform in order to make sure my impact on the world is a good one.

One of the biggest skills you should try to acquire as a SAHM is creativity. Creativity allows you to show off your best art skills and allow your child to fully express themselves in a creative way. It could be macaroni art or painting with yogurt. In return, your child can greatly impact the world with their art in the future. Maybe this will lead to a career as an artist, or maybe you will realize that you aren’t as talented as you once thought and now you have to show the world (well a select group of people) your horrible art skills. So, either way, you’re bringing either creativity or comedy into the world, which can both make someone laugh!

Another important part of my job is negotiation. Negotiating with my child is another skill they will have in the future that can possibly stop wars, famine and illness ( or so we like to think). Teaching your child this wonderful skill can help them thrive in the future. “Yes mom, I will do the dishes in return for a sweet treat”. Of course, in the future, hopefully, your child is negotiating things like the cost of a car or even an amazing raise at their job as a doctor or a lawyer. We can only hope, right?

Once you have taught the kids how to negotiate, they must learn decision making. Making major decisions in life is very important to anyone and making the best decisions for themselves can also make a major impression in the world. Maybe one day they will be making a decision that can change the outcome of their lives in a big way. One day they might be choosing a career path and whatever that career path is that they decide on , may one day be the difference in changing the world.

If you’re lucky enough to have more than one child, you get to bring in the major skill of working together as a team. Any great company will have many people working together in a team to make decisions, solve problems and help make a change. You want to make sure your child can work on a team, so once they become a lawyer or a doctor (again, one can dream) they can bring a sense of community to their job, allowing everyone to work comfortably together.

A big part of being a SAHM would be teaching my child to have leadership skills for whatever they decide to do in the future. They can be anything they want to be as long as they work hard and showing that they can lead a team could be very important in the future. As a SAHM I am the leader and showing my child how to remain calm and collective is very important, but it’s also important to show my child that not everyone in life is perfect and not every aspect in life is perfect. As long as you are trying and doing your best, you are making an impact.

As a stay-at-home mom , I am responsible for preparing my child for their future. I help guide them along the way as well as teach them various life skills that do impact the world and in a great way. I am responsible for shaping young minds and helping them grow in many ways. While some of this is just fantasy, we can still see and learn how important being a SAHM is as well as a job that should be taken seriously, as we are responsible for sending our children out into the world. We can only hope that the impact they make is a positive one.
