Chapter 1: The Meeting

It was a hot summer day when Emily first laid eyes on James. She was sitting outside of a café, sipping on an iced coffee and reading a book, when he walked by. He was tall and handsome, with a kind smile and bright blue eyes. Emily couldn't help but stare as he passed.

As luck would have it, James was stationed at the nearby military base and would often stop by the café on his days off. Over the course of the summer, Emily and James began to talk more and more. They found that they had a lot in common and enjoyed each other's company.
