Lina is spending the summer with her dad in Tuscany, but she's not happy about it. Her mother recently passed away, and although Lina's grandmother tells her that she should go, Lina is angry at her father for leaving them.

There's a way out: she can go to live with her grandmother while they figure things out (or don't). But Lina doesn't want to leave Tuscany because there are gelato shops everywhere! What better place is there than gelato shops?

But then she meets Ren, the boy who works at the gelato place her father owns, and finds a mysterious journal left by her mother. The journal reveals that Lina's mother was once an exchange student in Italy and met a boy named Lorenzo while there. She tells Lina to find out more about him. And with Ren's help, what follows is an unforgettable summer adventure through rolling hills, sunflowers and Tuscan villas filled with romance and mystery.

Lina's mother was once an exchange student in Italy, and while there she met a boy named Lorenzo. When Lina finds her mother's journal, she learns that Lorenzo was the love of her mother's life. Lina decides to find out more about him, so she and Ren head off on an adventure through rolling hills, sunflowers and Tuscan villas filled with romance and mystery.

This book is a refreshingly honest portrayal of grief and how it can affect families.

Love & Gelato is an honest portrayal of grief and how it can affect families. It follows the story of two girls, Olivia and Edie; one who has lost her mother in a car accident, and the other who has been living with cancer for years. Both girls face similar challenges after losing their mothers; however, each develops a different coping mechanism based on their own personalities.

Grief is a normal and often healthy part of life. It's a way to cope with loss, but it can be hard to deal with on your own. You may want to share your feelings about it with someone else—or not. You can talk about how grief is affecting you or keep quiet about it. Grief comes in many different forms: grief over the death of loved ones, grief over war and other tragedies that affect others far away from home, even the loss of a pet or favorite toy can bring on feelings of grief as well as more personal losses such as divorce or illness in family members (see Chapter 8). Whatever you're grieving, this book will help guide you through the process so that you can start feeling better again—as soon as possible!

Both girls face similar challenges after losing their mothers, but each develops a different coping mechanism based on their own personalities. Lina is a more introverted and reserved person, so she doesn't talk about her feelings as much. It's like there's no way to show what she's feeling without actually telling someone. Ren is more confident and outgoing, so he's more willing to open up about his feelings. He carries around a notebook with him at all times where he keeps track of his thoughts, emotions and how they're related to gelato flavors—a habit that started when he was younger because it helped him feel connected to his mother who loved making gelato in their family business together (every time she made a new flavor he would give it a name).

Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch is a book that deals with grief, love and gelato. That's right! This book is about a woman who loses her mother, finds true love in Italy with another person who has also lost someone important to them (like her mother), and then they both go on an adventure together where they enjoy tasty treats like gelato.

Love & Gelato paints a picture of what life is like when someone you love dies—and it's not all sad tears and rainbows. The book explores some tough topics such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, etc., but manages to do so without being too overwhelming or depressing for readers who may be going through similar things in their own lives right now!

This book is a refreshingly honest portrayal of grief and how it can affect families. Both girls face similar challenges after losing their mothers, but each develops a different coping mechanism based on their own personalities. This is just one of the many books by Jenna Evans Welch, so I would also recommend Love & Luck if you enjoyed this one!
