Bangkok is known for its beautiful temples, rich culture, exotic food, happening nightlife and vibrant markets. This makes travellers wonder whether travelling there with kids will be a difficult trip to do. As long as you plan your trip ahead of time and keep in check a feasible daily itinerary, then Bangkok will make for an adventure that will keep small travellers talking for years to come. Here are a few tips on how to have fun on your trip to Bangkok with your family.

The Best Time to Visit With Family

Bangkok has a hot climate throughout the year with average temperatures between about 26 and 32 degrees Celsius, but from March to May the temperatures soar and can reach close to 40 degrees Celsius. The rainy season in Bangkok usually starts from October to November and is much cooler, but the tropical climate makes it quite humid with torrential rains and thunderstorms. If you are choosing to travel during the hot season, be sure to pack sunscreen, and hats and carry plenty of water when going about with your outdoor activities for your family.

Choosing Your Means of Transportation

Although travelling by tuk-tuk makes for a very fun ride for your children, keep in mind that traffic in Bangkok can get very heavy, leading to heavy traffic jams, so it is important to keep time for travelling between locations. The Bangkok Skytrain is a great way to get around the city that is affordable and reliable and the MRT (subway) also provides great access to most parts of the city as well. Taxis are a safer option than riding in tuk-tuks and have refreshing air conditioning as well as seat belts for safety.

Choosing the Right Accommodation

Bangkok has a plethora of options when it comes to choosing a place to stay. These can be luxury hotels, resorts or a Serviced Residence in Bangkok. When it comes to staying together as a family choosing a place like Chatrium Residence Riverside Bangkok will make your stay a comfortable one as they have many amenities such as a fitness centre and a swimming pool to keep your kids entertained. With close-by access to many shopping arcades and complimentary shuttle service to and from the BTS Skytrain, travelling around will always be accessible for you and your family.

Activities to do together with your Family

There are plenty of sights to see and delicious food to eat in Bangkok, so make sure you start your days early and aim to head back early so that your children don’t get too tired while travelling about the entire day. To experience the rich culture and history of Thailand you can visit the majestic temples such as the famous Wat Arun which is the Temple of Dawn, Wat Pho which is the temple of the sleeping Buddha and the Grand Palace. After visiting Wat Arun you can walk a short distance and catch a ferry across the Chao Praya River which will be a fun ride for you and your children to see the city as you float by. Visit the markets such as Chatuchak Market and Chinatown to shop for souvenirs, handicrafts and a variety of toys, clothes and crafts for your children. Make sure you eat like a local and try the different varieties of food, desserts and sweets. For the kids especially you can go visit Safari World and SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World which are highly recommended for kids to learn about different animals and wildlife species. Finally, make some time to spend a day at a theme park and water park if your children are old enough to enjoy the rides.
