Luxor which was once known as Thebes was the capital of ancient Egypt during the New Kingdom era and is still an example of the grandeur of Egypt's pre-pharaonic era.

The Philae Temple honoring the goddess Isis and situated on the charming island of Philae is one of Aswan's top tourist attractions.
