The best memory of my childhood years was from the time I was a baby until I was in my teens. My family and I would meet each year for the fourth of July. It was the best time of my life. We would start by getting up early. We would pack what we were taking with us for the next few days, if we wanted to spend a few days. We would drive the three hours to Virginia, to my great grandmother's house, when she was alive. We would sit and have breakfast with her. We usually would go pick up breakfast, but sometimes we would eat what she had there as well.

We started navigating around to see family. We would visit my great aunt and cousins. We would stay for a couple of hours then go to my other cousin's house. We sometimes would go to Walmart and other times we would go to other places for our fireworks. We would buy sparklers, pop rocks, and other things. We would also go get something for dinner. But before getting dinner we would take great grandma to lunch.

We always had fun together. We would meet each year. I enjoyed having our family around each other. It was a time to put away all my negative emotions and a time to just enjoy being with the people I loved. I felt happy and content during that time. I felt that I was around people who loved me and people who cared.

We would grab dinner, KFC, McDonald's etc, whatever we wanted that year. Popeyes was another choice we would buy for dinner. We would sit in the early evening and eat before the sun went down. We would just sit, laugh and talk to each other about what was going on in our everyday lives. We had a blast.

After we ate we would do the fireworks. My cousins, brother, sister and I would play with the sparklers. Sometimes during the day we would play in the sprinkler. I loved to play with the sparklers. I also liked to sit and watch my family play with the sparklers as well. We would throw pop rocks and play with other sparklers. We would also go to the carnival or go see the fireworks before having our fun in the evening.

Being with my family that time was the happiest time of my life. We would just have a good time together and let go of the troubles of the year. I really enjoyed those years of being with my family.

We would stay the night at my great grandmother's. Sometimes we went home right after. In the morning we would get up and go get breakfast. We usually had McDonald's but it was great. It was a morning I sort of moarned because we had to leave that day and I was having too much fun.

These were the happiest days of my life.
