Antenatal Course Revolution

South East England Leads the Way

Traditionally, antenatal courses in the UK have lead a particular format. In a tired and outdated community centre, on what could be typically-British rainy day, a course leader delivers an antenatal course to parents to be. The course leader discusses the gestational development of the baby, what to pack in your hospital bag, pain relief, labour and delivery, and while everyone is excited, it feels a bit lacklustre, with an air of de ja vu. For decades, little seems to have changed. That is, until now.

In the South East of England a revolution is brewing, and that revolution is called The Parents Class. Tired of the same old, same old, The Parents Class are breaking the mould. Set in beautiful locations, expectant parents can take in the gorgeous scenery of the beautiful English countryside or captivating architecture as they embark upon their antenatal classes, and learn in luxury.

The Parents Class antenatal courses cover the essential topics of pregnancy, labour, and post-natal life. From creating a birth plan, to diet and nutrition, to your growing baby and changing body, to work, relationships, and thinking ahead - The Parents Class equips your to transition into parenthood with ease. What's more, topics such as upright birthing, delayed cord clamping, and stem cell collection are covered giving expectant parents, arguably, the most comprehensive antenatal course available in the UK today.

The courses have been designed by multi-award-winning midwife, Cass MacNamara, and they are delivered by qualified and experienced midwives. The whole ethos of The Parents Class is to deliver evidence-based information in an easily digestible format by experts. To enable parents to revisit topics covered, they are given access to the information provided in class, online. This allows them to take their time and make an informed choice, the right choice for them, the first time. In addition, the course leaders deliver this advice without bias, agenda, or judgement, so parents can feel supported in the choices they make.

Antenatal courses are a great way to learn about pregnancy and childbirth, but they can sometimes be too late to start learning about nutrition, diet, and other important topics. That’s why The Parents Class have developed two courses. The Mid-Pregnancy Course helps you prepare for your second trimester and is suitable for those between 18 and 28 weeks gestation. This 4-hour course, led by an experienced midwife, will guide expectant parents through the changes happening in mum's body and they baby as they reach the half-way milestone. The Full Antenatal Course is designed for those between 30 and 38 weeks gestation. To complement these antenatal classes, a specially designed a course handbook, The Parents Guide, will be posted to parents once their booking is complete. The perfect companion to the antenatal course, it includes useful summaries, a list of resources and lots of space to take notes and write down questions. Parents also receive their very own Pregnancy Journal, a beautifully designed diary useful throughout their entire pregnancy. The perfect way to record the special moments of their pregnancy. A beautiful keepsake, to reminisce upon. A new-born meet-up for course mates’ once babies have arrived is also included to help forge the relationships built during the course.

Staying ahead of the curve, The Parents Class has also created an online community which is free for all parents to join. This community is the perfect place to connect with other like-minded parents and explore a whole host of pregnancy, birth and parenting forums. Parents can join a Due Date Club to connect with other parents who are due around the same time. This is a great way to make friends, get support, and prepare for the arrival of their baby. With access to invaluable resources from experts at The Parents Class, as well as other expectant, new and experienced parents, The Parents Class Community is the place to be.

With a fresh pair of eyes, The Parents Class have reimagined what antenatal courses look like. With impassioned, experienced experts, parents can relax knowing that they are receiving evidence-based advice.
