Ancient beauty products are steeped in the ancient traditions and beliefs of societies from around the world. From herbs, oils and clays used to repair hair and skin, to practices aimed at creating physical appeal such as tattoos and body painting, these beauty regimes have been used for thousands of years with great success. Moreover what we embrace today is likely only a fraction of this global legacy were it not for lost civilizations or people who preserved their secrets across generations. Here’s an interesting look at some cosmetic trends that you may never even heard about before!

The Ancient Egyptians took anti-aging treatments very seriously—so much so that they created an elixir out of copper oxide crystals mixed with water known by them as ‘Blue Water Baarit'. Experts believe women would wear amulets made out myrrh - presumably soaked in Blue Water - which was believed to help keep wrinkles away thanks to its antioxidant properties; while others would use honey coated masks over their faces daily buffing off dead skin cells using abrasive face packs like clay mud full of minerals essential for healthy young looking skin. Additionally, perfume — consisting mainly fragrant resins —was always heavily worn by Pharaohs within the heightened humid climate giving rise to smoky aroma's instead set against palette's cleverly layered onto tongues perceivable mostly through sense smell than taste acting more akin surface level disguise masking undesirable smells far better then any make up could do where bacteria growth flourished..
