7 Awesome Black Dads, you should follow this Father's Day

With Father's Day right around (at the time of writing this). What better way to celebrate it than shining a light on some monumental Black fathers showcasing fatherhood in all very unique and inspiring facets. As a product of a single, Black father upbringing, this subject is near and dear to my heart. So here's my list of father's making an impact that you should add to your watchlist in 2021, if you haven't already.

1. La Guardia Cross

La Gaurdia is the definition of #GirlDad. La Gaurdia and his daughters Amalah and Nayely have a relationship that creates infectious laughter and his supporters the "Online Aunties" live for every moment of it. His platfrom also includes a highlight on mental health awareness. He does openly speak about his wife Leah Cross's journey with Depression. La Gaurdia has shown the ups and downs of marriage, fatherhood, and the sad reality of your parent loving your children more than you. No, but seriously through his YouTube Series, New Father Chronicles he's been featured on Rachel Ray Show and Ellen. So don't delay, please follow La Gaurdia Cross on all platforms today.

2. Beleaf in Fatherhood

Glen Henry and his "Chocolate Babies" Theo, Uriah, Anaya, and Uziah are the epitome of melanin magic. Beleaf in Fatherhood's content is all about raising black children to be smart, emotionally intelligent, assured. One of the most beautiful qualities about his content is that he opens up about his own childhood and his missteps on his journey as a dad. On his website he includes resources for fathers, his YouTube videos are informative and aesthetically pleasing, plus he creates amazing music inspired by the life lessons he's encountered through marriage and fatherhood. His content is a breath of fresh air everyone needs in their day.

3. KidMaury

Damaury Mikula created "Life as a Teenage Dad" when his daughter Bella was born, at the time he was only 17 years old. Watching this young father step to the plate and not only provide for his daughter , but also display the beautiful bond he has with his daughter is outstanding. Now keep in mind that his main content is meant to appeal to a younger crowd, so he keeps his videos fun and lighthearted, but I know Damaury's experiences as young fatherhood will inspire other young dads. Damaury is a young father who is only going up from here, so please check out his content and watch him rise.

4.Kayden X Coleman

Kayden is a self-proclaimed "Seahorse Dad". Which is not only super clever , but so accurate. Kayden is a transman , and has given birth to two gorgeous daughters Azaelia and Jurnee. Kayden has old videos on his YouTube channel about his pregnancy journey as a Transman, but even more interesting Kayden hosts workshops to give lived experience and education on Transmasculine fertility and birth. Please follow Kayden if you're ready to learn and support a vibrant father loving his daughters and advocating against societal norms.

5. DadLifeJason

Jason Linton also known as "Talk Box Dad" on Tik Tok is an adoptive dad of three adorable children. Jason shows the day-to-day of his multi-ethnic family through present-day and throwback footage. His content is entertaining, cute, and self-aware. He's a relatable, regular-degular, loving dad. His content has no need for the perfect lighting or fancy editing. I can tell his children are going to grow to be the most kind-hearted individuals to exist on the planet because he and his wife Patience have definitely laid the foundation. Please don't miss a beat of Jason's content, because I know it will brighten your day without a doubt.

6 & 7. T&J Family

Terrell and Jarius are two dads with two kids, which already sounds like a super interesting time. On T&J Family YouTube Channel not only are toddlers Aria and Ashton the cutest but the energy between Terrell and Jarius is a mix between hilarious and heartwarming. They share their fatherhood journeys as two dads, as well as the process of surrogacy. Their love for each other, their children, and their supporters is so real.
