When I think of Christmas the biggest christmas tradition I think of is building gingerbread houses and the fun that goes along with it. I call it my gingerbread bed!

The Gingerbread bed

1. Marshmallows

The first topping that I personally think of when I think of building a gingerbread house is kinda a non traditional one but it's marshmallows. Marshmallows are good for many things in gingerbread houses. They can be use to make snow or snowmen if you are feeling extra creative.

2. Pretzels

A second really good topping for a gingerbread house was pretzel sticks. Cinnoman sticks are a fun and creative toppings because you can do things such as shingles on a house or pillars on the house.

3. Gum Drops

Another good topping is gum drops. They can be made for all sorts of things such as shingle topping, Christmas lights or a beautiful colorful walkway to your wonderous gingerbread house.

4. M&M's

M&M's can be good because they can either be used as more decorations to put atop your roof of your gingerbread or they can be used at a form of stepping stones.

5. Kisses

Chocolate kisses are another one of those toppings that are my favorite because they can be used for all sorts of things. The first is it can be used as a sort of garland across the top of your gingerbread house. Its also can be used as plants to put in front of the house. Finally kisses can be used to build christmas trees in the front of the house.

6. Sprinkles

Sprinkles are cool because they can be used for things such as putting paths to your walkway and making it colorful or you can make it to be decorated windows.

7. Candy Canes

Candy canes are cool because they can be interested items to build your gingerbread house. One example of what to do with these items is to have it as decorations to put on the doors of your gingerbread house. Also my favorite thing to do with Candy Canes is to make candy cane sleds out of them. (they also make great christmas christmas presents)

8. Peppermints

Peppermints are also good and can be a very creative addition to gingerbread houses. They can be used as bricks for your gingerbread houses or they can be used as a beautiful walkway of pepperminty goodness.

9. Gingerbread Men

Gingerbread men are one of those toppings that can be kinda obvious but are super cute. You can put them in front of your house to show that this gingerbread man owns the house. It also can be good because you get an extra thing to decorate which can be super fun.
