1-To reduce the stress:

Those who are unable to solve their problems related to their behavioural, social, emotional factors, seek the guidance of a professional adviser. Clinical psychology aims to reduce the stress of the clients looking for help and to make positive changes in the lives of the individuals to make them normal citizens of society. They use different methods and advanced techniques to help them adjust to their environment.

2-Application of methods:

Clinical psychology applies methods such as at first they assess their client's problem, diagnose their problem, provide better and reliable treatment to them, and in the end make sure to prevent their client from the occurrence of previously experienced problems. The methods or treatment that they apply to their clients are psychological applied principles and based on valid evidence. They discourage invalid and unreliable methods as well-wishers of their patients.

3-Increases the well-being:

A client who is in distress and looking for help to make him able to cope with his problems appropriately, when visits the psychologist, he informs the psychologist completely about his problem and the next step to improve and increase his potentiality lies on the shoulder of the psychologist. Just like that, the purpose of a clinical psychologist is to work for the betterment and well-being of his client. They conduct assessments and interventions for the patient according to their problems and remain in contact with the patient as long as it is required.

4-Conduct research:

A clinical psychologist's work is not only limited to his patient's problems or their diagnoses or treatment. They are psychologists as well as scientists, so just like scientists when they become sceptical about a matter, their scope of work expands and they conduct research to find out the truth about that specific matter. Clinical psychologists evaluate the research conducted by others and conduct their research. Due to their extensive research work, scientific knowledge, and their experience with the people in distress they have the ability to both consume and produce new knowledge.

5-Individual differences:

A clinical psychologist who is sincere to his profession and desires the well-being of his patients will never consider the matter of individual differences among his patients. He will look forward to the recovery of his patients as soon as possible. He must not differentiate among his patients that one of his patients belongs to the elite class or the other to a poor class. He will conduct the same treatment, method, principle, and intervention for each of his patients according to their problem.

6-Focuses on life aspects:

This branch of psychology is concerned with the important individual life aspects such as emotional, biological, social, psychological, behavioural, and intellectual. It is concerned with the assessment, treatment of mental illness and behavioural problems. They obtain the information of the patient's past and evaluate the factors and forces which reinforce and make him repeat his negative behaviour. Once the psychologist reaches the problem, he asks the patient for tests or interventions and brings him back to his normal state.

7-Conducts therapies:

Mostly the troubled individuals are not satisfied with their own life or the people around them. So their relationships problems hurdle them in their way to success. This is where clinical psychologist takes a step in their lives and not only conduct therapies for the single individual but conduct group therapies. These group therapies include the therapy of those specific people who are causing trouble for the patient. By conducting such therapies a patient who has been hesitant in opening up to these people gets a chance to confront them with confidence.

8-Consultation:

Whenever we think of a clinical psychologist, their purpose to consult pops up in our minds instantly. They have the major responsibility to consult the people who look for guidance and advice in making their life decisions. A consultant may be hired permanently in any organisation to provide them with guidance. A consultant psychologist can deal with a single person or with the entire organisation. In short, wherever the clinical psychologist is working, a clinical psychologist aims to consult his patients.

9-Teaching:

A clinical psychologist may perform a part-time or full-time service as a teacher or a professor. They guide the students of psychology at the graduate or post-graduate level by teaching them the courses such as advanced psychopathology, psychological testing, and intervention. They can also teach at the undergraduate level such as abnormal psychology, personality, introduction to clinical psychology, and so on. Other than the work of teaching they can offer their services to many mental health personnel such as nurses, aides, social workers, occupational therapists, etc.

10-Other services:

They can offer their services in many governmental institutions and agencies, schools, colleges, universities, rehabilitation centres, special centres for children, community centres, hospitals, and clinics. Their private practices have grown recently over the last few years worldwide
