We are all aware of how college life can be very hectic at times. Keeping up with the lectures, assignments, deadlines, and exams can be very exhausting, and in those times, all you wish for is a magic wand that could fix all your problems. The integration of technology in our education system has been on the rise in the past few years. But it was only recently when students started implementing their routine tasks efficiently and timely with the help of technology. Therefore, we have gathered five useful ways of befriending technology to survive the college years.

1. The Cloud

Even if you aren't a tech freak, you might still be using one of IT's biggest technologies—cloud computing—in the form of Google Docs or Dropbox. If you still aren't, it's high time you start using this tool. It will save all your important documents in the cloud, so that you're free of the hassle of keeping physical documents, or worrying about losing them due to any unforeseen circumstances. It also offers a load balancer characteristic by enabling a number of authorized users to access the data you have stored in the cloud. This is specifically useful when you're working on a group project.

2. E-notes

Attending long, tiring lectures in college can be tough at times. You are required to take notes and sometimes, it's really difficult to keep up with the teacher's pace. You aren't even done jotting down the points, and the teacher is already on the next topic. Moreover, keeping separate notebooks for each subject can be stressful sometimes. To prevent this, there are a number of applications available online with various features that allow you to not just make notes, but also edit them, retrieve them anywhere any time, and also share them with your friends. For example, Google Keep is for Android users and Notability for iOS users.

3. Online Lectures

Many times, you find a subject being a little tough on you in terms of its complex concepts, or extensive syllabus. It's so laborious that classroom lectures alone do not suffice. You can either get extra tuition, or seek help from your friends. But if all else fails, the best option is to watch online lecture videos. The best website for this is Khan Academy. It successfully provides free lectures for students on hundreds of subjects covering thousands of topics in an effective and time-saving manner.

4. Grammar Nazi Alert

Yes! To avoid all the grammar and spelling mistakes in your essays, and losing marks for such errors, you can use Grammarly.com. It automatically checks and highlights all the grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, weak sentence construction, and plagiarized material in your document, which you can edit right there—and then produce authentic and well-written essays/assignments. It will also leave a good impression on your teachers, and might earn you extra marks!

5. Speech-to-Text

Being a college student means a lot of typing and writing for assignments, projects, and whatnot. So much typing and writing can leave you with sore fingers, or hurting wrists. The best way to solve this is to use Google's speech-to-text feature, which allows you to convert audio into typed text. You can narrate your assignment to the app instead of writing it, or upload an already saved voice recording. Doing assignments were never this fast and easy!

College life can be wearing. The workload can overtire you, leaving you with desperate attempts to somehow lessen the stress and pressure. Undoubtedly, technology can provide you just that, whether you are tech savvy or not. Every student must know these hacks in order to accomplish simple tasks, that may otherwise be time-consuming. It not only saves your energy and time, but is also highly cost-effective.
