The Journey of Prince Joseph

From Doubt to Faith

By Digital PantherPublished 2 years ago • 5 min read

Prince Joseph had always been a man of reason. Raised in a grand palace with wealth and knowledge, he found no need for faith. To him, the world operated on logic, and the idea of a higher power seemed nothing more than a myth.

Yet, deep within, he felt something—a whisper in the wind, a pull in his heart, a quiet thought that would not fade. He often gazed at the stars, wondering, Who placed them there? He felt the warmth of the sun and asked himself, What force brings it back every morning? Though he dismissed these thoughts, they always returned.

Unable to ignore this feeling, Joseph decided to embark on a journey, hoping to find the truth.

A Mysterious Encounter

Days into his journey, Joseph met an old man resting beneath a tree. The man wore a long white hood, his head covered, his beard and mustache flowing like silver threads. His eyes shone with wisdom, and his presence radiated kindness.

Joseph approached and asked, “Who are you, old man?”

The old man smiled. “I am Khizar.”

Joseph looked at him curiously. Something about this man felt different.

Khizar studied him for a moment and then said, “You seek something, don’t you?”

Joseph hesitated but nodded. “I feel… as if there is something greater than me. A force that moves the world. But I don’t understand it.”

Khizar nodded and simply said, “Find the reality, my son.”

Joseph frowned. “What does that even mean? You speak in riddles, old man. I don’t have time for this.”

Khizar sighed but did not argue. He simply smiled and continued on his way. Joseph shook his head. Crazy old man, he thought and walked away.

The Test of Faith

As he traveled through a deserted valley, a group of robbers blocked his path. They were armed and had cruel eyes.

“Hand over your wealth,” the leader demanded.

Joseph straightened. “I am a traveler. If I give you everything, how will I continue my journey?”

The bandit laughed. “That is not our problem. Give us what you have, or we take your life.”

Joseph’s heart pounded. He was alone. Defenseless.

Suddenly, a fierce wind howled through the valley. A storm of dust and sand exploded into the air, blinding the robbers. They stumbled, covering their eyes, coughing as the dust choked them.

Joseph stood still, untouched by the storm. The robbers, powerless against the raging wind, fled into the darkness.

As the dust settled, a voice called out, “Are you okay, my son?”

Joseph turned and saw Khizar emerging from behind the bushes.

Joseph’s eyes widened. “You…? How are you here?”

Khizar smiled. “Thank God you are safe.”

Joseph frowned. “Did God help me just now? Or… was it you who prayed for me?”

For the first time in his life, he truly questioned his disbelief.

Joseph looked at Khizar, his voice hesitant. “Old man… tell me everything about your God.”

Khizar smiled. “The reality I wanted to tell you days ago.”

Joseph sighed. “I thought you were just an old fool. I was rude to you. But… you still helped me.”

Khizar chuckled softly. “God teaches kindness, my son. You were simply searching for the truth in the wrong place.”

Joseph lowered his gaze. “I want to know about God now.”

Khizar placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. “Patience, my son. You seem tired and hungry. Come to my hut. Eat, rest, and then we shall talk.”

Joseph, for the first time, did not argue. He smiled slightly and said, “Alright, old man. Lead the way.”

The Truth Revealed

Khizar’s hut was small and simple. He offered Joseph a modest meal.

“Forgive me, son, this is all I have,” Khizar said.

Joseph shook his head. “This is enough. You share what you have. That means more than a feast.”

After eating and resting, Joseph was eager to learn. “Now tell me, old man. Who is your God?”

Khizar smiled. “God listens, sees everything, and answers prayers. He is the real helper, the most powerful.”

Joseph listened carefully. “I was an atheist. I never believed in God. But now… I think He is real.”

Khizar nodded. “He is not just my God, my son. He is yours and everyone’s. He does not get tired. He does not sleep. He holds all power.”

Joseph thought deeply. “I have met many religious people, but you are different. You speak of one God. But many worship different idols. How can all of them be right?”

Khizar asked, “You are a prince. Would you allow two kings to rule your kingdom with different laws?”

Joseph’s eyes widened. “No! That would lead to chaos.”

Khizar smiled. “Then how can multiple gods rule the universe in harmony? There is only one true Lord.”

Joseph was silent for a long moment. “How did you know I was a prince? I never told you.”

Khizar chuckled. “Our Lord tells me what I need to know.”

Joseph exhaled in amazement. “So all these idol worshipers… they are following false beliefs?”

Khizar nodded. “That is why the world is full of conflict. Humans have turned away from the real Lord, chasing power and wealth instead of truth.”

Joseph’s heart pounded. “You’re right. I can see it now. What must I do?”

Khizar’s voice was gentle. “Accept the real Lord and guide others to the truth.”

Joseph’s eyes shone with newfound understanding. “Who is the real Lord?”

Khizar’s eyes softened. “His name is the Merciful.”

Joseph fell to his knees. “Honorable one, I accept the only true Lord.”

Khizar placed a hand on his head. “Then, my son, you must also accept His beloved ones—the messengers who spread His truth.”

Joseph nodded. “If I share the truth, can I become beloved to God?”

Khizar smiled. “Yes, my son. Those who love the Lord and follow His way are closest to Him.”

Joseph’s voice was eager. “Then can we be best friends? Will you teach me?”

Khizar chuckled. “Yes, my son. My Lord chose me for you. I will guide you.”

The Return of the King

Joseph stayed with Khizar, traveling to distant lands, learning wisdom and truth. He gave the old man great respect, cherishing him as his mentor.

When Khizar passed away, Joseph returned to his kingdom. He married his beloved and, despite hardships, remained patient.

When his father, the king, died, Joseph ascended the throne. But he ruled differently. He ruled with justice, kindness, and truth.

Under his reign, the people flourished, and peace filled the land.

Prince Joseph had begun his journey as a man of doubt. But he returned as a man of faith—a king guided by the light of the one true Lord.

And his people loved him for it.
