The greatest psychologists in the world say we use only 5 percent of our brainpower. If you could force your brain to work at half its installed capacity, you could learn 40 international languages, and memorize encyclopedias from cover to cover. and complete the required courses at 3 dozen (36) universities.

What a wonder machine bequeathed to man free of charge! Then it is perplexing today that people are in a hurry to be machine literate but slow to be self and brain literate. A lot of computer literate people even computer geeks and wizards, are not brain literate. They don’t understand the supercomputer they carry in their skulls.

With his brain man can mathematicise the unimaginable, comprehend the universe and apprehend the deep oceans of waters, conquer the world, and subdue the firmament. The only thing anyone needs to survive in this world is a functional brain – a brain with all the requisite features and functionalities.

Amazingly, scientists say that one brain cell is a minicomputer by the way it processes, stores, and retrieves information. So, you can imagine how many computers you carry in your head at once. The brain is the most complex machine in the entire universe and the most sophisticated organ in the entire human anatomy with billions of nerve cells and limitless storage capacity

GRAND EXCURSION INTO THE HUMAN BRAIN

Into every man’s palm nature has written his destiny. In every man's hand, she has put incipient powers and latent forces. Within every man's head, she located the central processing unit –a well-organized and integrated collection of sophisticated cells functioning as a whole. Around this unit nature mounted all the key supersensitive antennas for audio, visual, taste, touch, and even the sixth sense or intuition. The brain is divided into two halves, left and right hemispheres or departments. Each hemisphere is saddled with specific duties and responsibilities.

The left department according to cognitive experts, is mandated to operate within the domain of logic and analysis of verbal, rational, and quantitative issues. Matters that are imaginative, creative, intuitive, conceptual, non-verbal, and holistic are within the purview of the right brain to be precise, are the seat of the imagination.

The soul of man is said to reside in the portion of the brain called the prefrontal cortex which also doubles as the Centre for planning, leadership, management, decision-making, attention, and concentration. Our general spirituality is said to be taking place at another portion called the temporal lobe.

The specialized characteristics of the right brain make it the seat of curiosity, synergy, experimentation, metaphoric thinking, playfulness, troubleshooting, problem-solving, artistry, flexibility, synthesizing, emergency management, and risk-taking. Some cognitive psychologists postulate that it is also likely to be opportunistic, future-oriented, change, and instrumental to our visualization and creative thinking

In truth, one needs to survive in this world is a functional, active brain a brain that thinks in a chain pattern, a brain that is on duty and not idle, a brain that is ready to learn and act. When a brain is holistically and scientifically configured it thinks connectedly and globally. But then in our modern society, how many people have this rare gem?

THE BRAIN IS EVERYTHING

The Brain is one of the greatest gifts God gave to man. The Brain serves both humanity and divinity. The truth is that the brain is everything. It is the seat of intelligence. It determines our career, lifestyle, workstyle, temperament, choice of partner, risk quotient, and achievement drive. To date, the brain is still more than half untapped, twice untasked and unexplored, and many times fallow. Renowned cognitive psychologists have well emphasized that the brain not only never tires, but it also becomes more productive and efficient with use that’s why you hear people say that ‘Practice makes Perfect’. No one has ever been able to utilize more than a tiny fraction of the potential in his brain.

Nature rightly equipped man with all the superhuman talents and superlative machines given the enormity of the task he has to carry out in the universe. You cannot conquer or subdue anything unless you are more intelligent, more powerful or both.

These extraordinary sensory gadgets bestowed upon man have magnificent perspective receptive and quixotic abilities. They can detect and capture the right signal at a time and activate the right hormones for necessary action.

All the status symbols of modernity we brandish today ranging from nuclear bombs, digital audio, visual and video cameras, Mobile phones, Smart TV sets, computers, deep freezers, Self-driving cars, and even the clothes we wear bear the imprints of the human brain. Yet this is infinitesimally small compared to what our brain is capable of doing.

Your brain is your greatest asset. Cherish it, nourish it, preserve it, Electrify, and raise it to incandescence by giving it work to do. It holds your banner of progress in any area of endeavor. The Brain has taken man to the Moon and Mars. The Brain will rule the future and prepare man for heaven. You wonder why the Holy Book says:” (Be transformed by the renewing of your mind (brain)”. Be brain literate today. Be transformed today. It’s now or never
