Jenny sat at her desk, staring out the window at the bright blue sky. It was a beautiful day, and she wished she could be outside playing with her friends. But she was stuck in class, listening to her teacher drone on about history.

Jenny sighed and glanced at the clock. Only ten more minutes until recess. She tried to focus on the lesson, but her mind kept drifting back to all the fun times she had had with her friends.

It was true what they said - school days would never come again. Jenny had never really understood the importance of those words until now. She was in sixth grade, and soon she would be leaving elementary school for middle school. It was a big change, and Jenny wasn't sure she was ready for it.

She looked around the classroom at her classmates. Some of them were chatting quietly with their friends, while others were scribbling notes furiously. Jenny knew that they were all feeling the same way she was - a mix of excitement and apprehension about the future.

When the bell finally rang for recess, Jenny practically jumped out of her seat. She grabbed her backpack and headed for the door, eager to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.

As she stepped out onto the playground, she saw her friends gathered around the monkey bars. They waved excitedly as she approached.

"Hey, Jenny!" one of them called. "Wanna come play with us?"

Jenny grinned and ran over to join them. For the next half hour, she forgot all about school and responsibilities. She laughed and played, feeling free and carefree.

But eventually, the bell rang, signaling the end of recess. Jenny and her friends headed back to class, feeling a little bit more relaxed and happy.

Over the next few weeks, Jenny tried to savor every moment of her remaining time in elementary school. She went on field trips, participated in class projects, and spent as much time as she could with her friends.

As the last day of school approached, Jenny felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, she was excited to start middle school and all the new experiences it would bring. But on the other hand, she knew that she would miss her elementary school days.

On the last day of school, Jenny and her classmates gathered in the auditorium for a final assembly. They listened to speeches from their teachers and watched a slideshow of photos from the year.

Jenny felt tears prickling at the corners of her eyes as she watched the photos. She saw pictures of herself and her friends playing on the playground, working on projects together, and laughing in class.

As the assembly came to an end, Jenny and her classmates filed out of the auditorium and headed for the door. Jenny paused for a moment, taking one last look at the classroom where she had spent so many happy days.

She knew that she would never forget those school days - the friendships, the laughter, and the lessons she had learned. They had been a special time in her life, and she was grateful for every moment.

As Jenny walked out into the sunshine, ready to start her next chapter, she knew that she would always carry those memories with her. School days would never come again, but they would always hold a special place in her heart.
