Flying kites

Today, Tom and I went to the park. Uncle Sam gave Tom a kite that we really wanted to try out. We hadn’t had a chance to try it because the weather hadn’t been windy. It was very cloudy today and the wind was strong enough for flying kites.

Tom had the first try. The kite flew beautifully! It went high above the trees. The first time I tried to fly the kite, it crashed to the ground. Tom patiently taught me how to get the kite flying, and eventually I could do it.

Tomorrow, we plan to go to the beach. The weather will be warm, and it’s going to be sunny, too. I have a new surfboard. I’ve never surfed before, so I’m extremely excited.

Hopefully, Tom can teach me how to surf, too!
