Best Student Accommodations in Madrid for Overseas Students
Madrid, the heart and soul of Spain, is a beautiful city filled with life, charm and laughter. It is impossible to get bored when you’re living in the capital with so many places to visit and several things to do in the city. Some head to Madrid to experience the Circo Price, to see a Picasso masterpiece at the Reina Sofia, relax at the Retiro Park, or enjoy the iconic theatre shows. Others visit to shop and dine, explore all the hidden and secretive locations, while many others tour the historic sites, the famous museums, galleries, etc.

Maryah lives is Saudi Arabia. She’s five years old and speaks under one hundred words of English. That’s where I come in. I teach her my language in thirty-minute chunks over Zoom. A lot my little students can obediently name off the objects on my vast collection of educational flash cards, but Maryah does so much more. She’s driven to communicate and has a talent for stringing her limited vocabulary together to really say something. Ignoring my lesson plan, she carries her phone to her room to show me her Barbie collection. “Like,” she says, holding up a messy-haired doll. She beams at me and grabs another. “Like. Oh yes. Happy. Pink!”
New Year’s Market
The security guard wishes me a happy new year as he waves me through the gate of Wuhan Primary School. It’s the last school day of 2018, and the occasion is marked by a school-wide market, in which the students can sell their old toys to their teachers and each other for cash. The campus is decked out for the occasion. The path towards the classroom buildings is lined with trees. This late in the season their leaves have all long fallen away, but for today’s event the students have hung the branches with handmade red lanterns and decorated soda bottles in which they’ve written their wishes for the coming year. A few students have forgone the bottles, and simply written their dreams on scraps of colored construction paper. Although reading Chinese characters is a struggle for me, I reach out look at a few of them. They translate as:

Reed Team HomesPublished 3 years ago in EducationWHY SHOULD YOU LEARN A (NEW) FOREIGN LANGUAGE?
Apart from the obvious, for the sake of it, (nah, just kidding!) because you love that specific language, because you like the culture and because it looks good on your resume, (if you actually can speak it fluently), I have other reasons behind why you should learn another or (if this is the first time you are learning a new language) A foreign language.
Annaelle ArtsyPublished 3 years ago in EducationSafety Tips for Studying Abroad in College
If you're planning to study abroad, researching what you should expect from the experience is a wise precaution. In particular, you should try to find out as much as can about crime statistics in that country and the quality of the neighborhood in which your university is located. These factors will influence how safe you'll be in a place where you won't know anyone. Additionally, these safety tips will help you protect yourself.
Sheryl WrightPublished 3 years ago in EducationTHOUGHTS ON HOW I PLAN TO LEARN MULTIPLE LANGUAGES AT THE SAME TIME
First, we need to start with attitude and thinking patterns around learning a foreign language. I would like to start by addressing the perfectionism idea behind learning foreign languages, especially if it comes to learning multiple languages at the same time. There are these needs people have to become perfect in their target language, or to be perfect while learning a foreign language or to do it right and hard and with the perfect effort to have perfect results. And that’s because we fear rejection. We fear we are not going to be good enough if we do not do it perfectly. This is going to be even harder to take in if the one you feel you are disappointing is yourself because you have set up incredibly non-achievable goals and objectives.

Dear Founders of Memberful, I would like to sincerely thank you for giving me an opportunity to increase my knowledge. I honestly was not aware of the fact that companies such as yours existed. I had never given a thought to having a paid subscription for anything. So I never had a reason to look into companies that offered creators like myself a tool that would allow me to earn from my followers through membership software. However, due to the Vocal challenge you are sponsoring I googled your company on the internet. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable your service is. I was also blessed to have my mind flooding with ideas as to what I could create that would enable me to fulfill my passion and earn money through a subscription.
Greer CollinsPublished 3 years ago in EducationGeography is My Life
Geography is a subject that is fulfilling because I have a passion to learn about places and their culture. A lot can be learned from shows like “Aerial Views,” and even just traveling. When an overnight stay is required, I always take note of the hotels available. Researching restaurants and menus for the area is also interesting. If I meet a person, I have asked them where they are from. If I am curious about the place, I will later research the city, just to know about it. There have been times I have met a person, and when they tell me where they are from, I will already be familiar with the city. They are pretty astonished by what I know about their city in terms of what county it is in, whether it is the county seat, the state it is in, and whether or not it is a suburb. Sometimes, I have gotten it incorrect.

I am a native of the Finger Lakes region of New York and ever since I was young I’ve had a deep love for local history. My father lived in Seneca Falls, NY in his family home where I spent the remaining weekends, holidays and most of my summer vacation. The family house was only three doors up from the Women’s Rights Convention site and I remember visiting the museum on multiple occasions during my childhood.

Teaching English has been a very educational journey for me. On any given day, I converse online with people from Brazil to Turkey to China to Sudan. Sharing some of the mind-opening stories that I encounter through teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) is a must.
