Is anyone born and dies on earth without enemies? The truth is no. Those who do good and those who do evil have enemies. All incarnations on earth had powerful enemies. All the incarnated men were victorious over the enemy and won the world. Puranas say that it was divine hands that delivered them all from the enemy. All the myths and legends deal with the conflict between good and evil.

Sri Narasimhamurthy was a ferocious avatar who appeared to kill the enemy in this way. Lord Vishnu took four incarnations in Krita Yuga. Narasimha is the last incarnation of it. It is said in the Bhagavata that Lord Vishnu took Narasimha avatar to save Prahlad and defeat Hiranyakashipu. As the name suggests, this Vishnu avatar has the face of a lion and the body of a man.

Hiranyakashipu became enraged after the killing of his brother Hiranyaksha. By doing penance to Brahma

He acquired boons such as not to be killed by man or animal, not to be killed by weapons, not to be killed by day or night, not to be killed by earth, sky or underworld. Hiranyakasipu became the demon emperor who brought all the worlds under his feet in the arrogance of Varabalam. His son Prahlad was a perfect Vishnu devotee. Kalpa to Hiranyakashipu Prahlad not to worship his enemy Vishnu

Hiranyakasipu tried many ways to repel his son Prahlada

Tried but failed. Hiranyakasipu then adopted many methods to kill Prahlad. The defeated Asura was enraged and asked Prahlad to show Vishnu. Prahlada replied that my Vishnu is in the pillar and the rust, in you and in me, in everyone and everywhere.

given

Then may Vishnu on the pillar save you

Shouting, Hiranyakashipu hit the pillar inside his palace

Narasimhaavatara will happen with laughter in a way that shocks all the directions

Puranas say that Narasimha, who is neither human nor animal, killed Hiranyakashipu by laying him on his lap at dusk.

It has the message that the Lord will reach by any means to free the devotees from the ocean of misery. Hindus in India celebrate Narasimha Jayanti on the day Lord Vishnu took Narasimha avatar. Today is Narasimha Jayanti
