If you're struggling to open a container or jar, don't strain yourself. Instead, try running the lid under hot water for thirty seconds, then dry it for a better grip. You'll be surprised at how easily it opens after this.

When you're following a recipe that requires garlic and onions, it's best to add the onions first. Once they become almost translucent, it's the perfect time to add the garlic. Garlic cooks more quickly than onions, and if you put both in the pan at the same time, the garlic can burn, and your dish won't taste as good.

If you're a fan of avocados, you can easily check if one is ripe or not by looking at its tail. If you can easily pull it out, the avocado is ready to eat. If you can't, it's not ripe yet, so it's best to wait a couple of days.

To check if an egg is fresh, crack it open and examine the yolk. A fresh egg will have a clear circle of white surrounding the yolk, which should be voluminous. If the yolk is flat or the white part doesn't have clear borders, the egg is not fresh and should not be eaten.

To determine the quality of your eggs, place a raw egg still in the shell into a bowl of water. If the egg remains on the bottom, it's fresh. If one side comes closer to the water's surface, it's not fresh but still safe to eat. If it floats, it's not fresh enough to consume.

It's important to brush your teeth in the morning and before bed, but the process doesn't have to be the same. In the morning, brushing is more for fresh breath, while in the evening, it's essential to brush thoroughly to prevent bacteria from breeding and protect your gums and teeth. If you're struggling with bad breath and don't have a mint, try eating a slice of cucumber.

To keep natural peanut butter from separating into solids and oils, store it upside down.

When you put something down, like your phone, try commenting out loud to engage multiple parts of your brain and create a more vivid memory. This technique can also be useful when blowing out a candle, unplugging your hair straightener, turning off your stove burners, or taking your keys, wallet, and other items when leaving the house. By doing so, you'll reduce moments of doubt and be less likely to forget.

Do you want to know if your coconut oil is pure? A simple trick is to put it in the fridge for half an hour. Pure coconut oil solidifies at low temperatures, while adulterated oils will separate and form a distinct layer.

To check if an onion has mold, peel off the first layer and look for any stains that indicate fading. If you see mold, it's best to avoid buying the vegetable or remove all the mold if you've already purchased it.

A ripe lemon should have a smooth, rich yellow skin. If it has a greenish tint or pale yellow color, it's not yet ripe.

If you're a coffee lover, consider buying whole beans and grinding them yourself or asking a salesperson to grind them in-store. This ensures that there are no extra additives in your coffee.

To separate egg yolks from whites, use a clean plastic water bottle. Crack the egg into a bowl, then hold the bottle over the yolk and slowly release it to create a vacuum. The yolk will slide into the bottle, leaving the white behind.

If you lose a small item like an earring, use a vacuum cleaner to find it. Just make sure to cover the vacuum's head with a stocking to prevent the item from getting lost in the dust and dirt.

For travel, use a contact lens case to bring your favorite lotion without taking up too much space.

Lastly, a hair straightener can be a useful tool for ironing collars if you don't like using a regular iron.

To test if your batteries are good or bad, drop them from a height of approximately six inches. If they bounce once and fall over, they're still good. If they bounce around more than once, they're on their way out.
