I once heard, “Only a fool speaks before hearing the facts.” That seems to be accurate because so many people who’ve never studied or even read the Bible discount its ability to improve a person’s life and rate of success. An opinion based on nothing — no facts, no experience, and no examination of evidence isn't an opinion at all but shows a complete lack of thought.

If the Bible is what it claims to be, an instructional message to humanity from its Creator, then it contains the highest level of knowledge or education in the universe. It would be, in fact, the manufacturer’s instructional manual.

When we purchase products, we want the instruction and maintenance manual, along with the product guarantee. So why are most people unconcerned about the possibility that the Creator provided those things for his intelligent human creation in the pages of the Bible?

The Bible’s practical value

It teaches moral principles: The Bible provides a clear and consistent framework for ethical and moral behavior, which is essential for success in life.

It offers wisdom: The Bible contains a wealth of wisdom and guidance on relationships, finances, decision-making, and personal growth.

It provides guidance for personal relationships: The Bible teaches principles for building healthy and fulfilling relationships with others, including marriage, parenting, and friendship.

It encourages perseverance: The Bible teaches us to persevere in the face of challenges and adversity, which is a key component of success.

It promotes gratitude: The Bible emphasizes the importance of gratitude and thanksgiving, which can help cultivate a positive and optimistic outlook on life.

It teaches about work ethic: The Bible provides guidance on how to approach work and pursue excellence in all that we do.

It provides hope: The Bible offers hope and encouragement in times of difficulty, which is crucial for maintaining a positive and successful outlook.

It promotes humility: The Bible teaches the importance of humility, which is essential for success as it helps individuals to maintain a proper perspective and avoid pride and arrogance.

It offers comfort: The Bible provides comfort and peace in times of trouble, which can help individuals maintain emotional stability and focus on their goals.

It answers many of life's big questions: This gives individuals a sense of purpose and meaning in life.

It provides guidance for personal growth: The Bible offers guidance for personal growth and spiritual development, which is essential for success in all areas of life.

It offers a roadmap for life: The Bible provides a roadmap for life and offers a clear path for success in all aspects of life, including relationships, finances, work, and personal growth.

When it comes to whether or not it’s beneficial to study the Bible’s message, consider the possible consequences of willful ignorance.

The result of willful ignorance can be negative and have far-reaching consequences. For proof of this, all we have to do is look at the condition of society at large. See how often you can identify the following aspects of willful ignorance in others or yourself.

Limited perspective: By ignoring new information and ideas, a person limits their understanding of the world and the ability to see things from different angles.

Poor decision-making: Willful ignorance can lead to poor judgment, as a person is not considering all the facts and perspectives.

Resistance to change: When someone is willfully ignorant, they may be resistant to change and unwilling to adapt to new ideas and situations.

Confirmation bias: Willful ignorance can perpetuate confirmation bias, where a person only seeks information that supports their existing beliefs and disregards information that challenges them.

Stagnation: Willful ignorance can lead to a lack of personal and intellectual growth, as a person is not exposing themselves to new experiences and learning opportunities.

Overall, the result of willful ignorance is a limited view of the world, leading to a less informed, less flexible, and less productive life
