What is Amazon Prime Video?

Amazon Prime Video is Amazon’s on-demand streaming service available to anyone with an Amazon Prime membership. While Amazon Prime is best known for offering free shipping, Prime Video gives subscribers access to thousands of movies, TV shows, and Amazon Originals, all without additional cost to Prime members.

Key Features of Amazon Prime Video:

Amazon Originals: Exclusive shows and movies like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Boys, and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.

Movies and TV shows: A wide range of genres from new releases to classic films and TV series.

Add-on channels: The ability to subscribe to premium networks like HBO, Showtime, and Starz directly through Amazon Prime Video Channels.

Affordable pricing: Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year, which includes access to Prime Video and other Prime benefits.

Amazon Prime Video is included with a standard Amazon Prime subscription, but it focuses more on on-demand content than live TV, especially sports. It does not include fuboTV as part of its offerings, although you can access other add-on channels.

Is fuboTV Free with Amazon Prime?

The answer is straightforward: fuboTV is not free with Amazon Prime. These are two separate services, and subscribing to Amazon Prime does not grant access to fuboTV’s content or channels.

While Amazon Prime Video offers access to certain live TV add-on channels like HBO and Showtime, fuboTV is not one of the available add-ons. You will need to subscribe to fuboTV separately if you want to access its live sports and TV channels.

Why fuboTV Isn’t Free with Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime Video and fuboTV serve different purposes and cater to different types of audiences.

Amazon Prime Video is primarily focused on on-demand content, offering movies and TV shows to watch at your leisure, whereas fuboTV is a live TV streaming service designed to replace traditional cable packages.

FuboTV’s heavy emphasis on sports channels, live programming, and multi-device streaming capabilities makes it a different product entirely. Because of this, fuboTV requires its own subscription independent of Amazon Prime.

How to Access fuboTV on Amazon Devices

Although fuboTV isn’t free with Amazon Prime, you can still access it through Amazon’s streaming devices like the Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube. Here’s how:

• Download the fuboTV app: Go to the Amazon App Store on your Fire TV device and search for the fuboTV app.
• Sign in or create an account: Once downloaded, open the app, and either sign in with your existing fuboTV credentials or create a new account if you don’t have one yet.
• Subscribe to a plan: Choose one of fuboTV’s available subscription plans (Pro, Elite, Premier, or Latino).
• Start watching: Once your subscription is activated, you can start streaming live TV channels and sports events directly from your Fire TV device.

Benefits of Using fuboTV on Amazon Devices

• Convenience: If you already use Amazon devices like the Fire TV Stick, you can seamlessly integrate fuboTV into your existing setup without needing additional hardware.
• Voice control: Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant can be used to control your Fire TV, including opening the fuboTV app, changing channels, and finding content.
• High-quality streaming: fuboTV supports streaming in 4K Ultra HD, and Amazon Fire TV devices are well-equipped to handle high-definition content.

Alternatives to fuboTV on Amazon Prime

If you’re specifically looking for live TV options within Amazon Prime Video, there are several alternatives you can consider through Amazon Channels.

While they don’t provide the same sports-centric programming as fuboTV, they do offer live TV and premium content.

Amazon Prime Video Channels

Through Amazon Channels, Prime members can add subscriptions to premium networks like:

• HBO Max
• SHOWTIME
• Starz
• Cinemax
• Paramount+

These channels offer live TV options but focus more on movies, original series, and documentaries rather than the comprehensive live sports coverage that fuboTV is known for. Prices for these channels vary but generally range from $5 to $15 per month.

Other Live TV Streaming Services

If live TV is a priority, there are other streaming services similar to fuboTV that may be a better fit depending on your preferences and budget. Some alternatives include:

• YouTube TV: Offers over 100 live channels for $72.99/month, including a mix of sports, news, and entertainment.
• Hulu + Live TV: For $76.99/month, you get access to over 85 live TV channels plus Hulu’s entire on-demand streaming library.
• Sling TV: A more budget-friendly option, Sling TV offers customizable live TV packages starting at $40/month.

Conclusion

While Amazon Prime Video offers a vast library of movies and TV shows, fuboTV is not free with Amazon Prime.

These are two separate services with different subscription models, and each offers unique features to its users. If live sports and a wide variety of channels are what you’re after, fuboTV is a great option but requires a standalone subscription.

However, if you’re more interested in on-demand content and premium movies or shows, Amazon Prime Video (with additional Amazon Channels) may satisfy your needs.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member using a Fire TV device, you can still easily access fuboTV by downloading the app and subscribing separately, giving you the best of both worlds: live sports and premium entertainment all on one platform.
