The name "Instagram" comes from the abbreviation of "an instant telegram," reflecting the app's core feature of instant photo sharing. When Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger separated Instagram from Burbn, they initially called their new app "Codename." However, they continued their search for a more fitting name and ultimately settled on "Instagram." Given that the app allows users to share photos and videos instantly, the name's meaning was a particularly fitting choice.

Instagram was founded in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. They initially started with a mobile check-in app called "Burbn", but later focused only on photo sharing and created Instagram.

Instagram was launched for the iOS platform in October 2010 and quickly gained popularity. Within the first few months, the app reached millions of users and was acquired by Facebook for about $1 billion in 2012.

Today, Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms with billions of users worldwide. In addition to sharing photos and videos, Instagram offers a variety of features such as story sharing, live streams, IGTV, and Reels.

Instagram was influenced by many investors throughout its establishment. In 2010, the founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger received a $500,000 investment to begin their app development work. These investors were Steve Anderson of Baseline Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz.

Initially, the funds were used for developing an app called Burbn, which was later turned into the photo-sharing focused Instagram. When Instagram was launched in November 2010, it quickly became popular and caught the attention of investors.

In 2011, Instagram received an additional investment of approximately $7 million from investors such as Benchmark Capital and Chris Sacca's Lowercase Capital. This investment helped provide additional resources for managing Instagram's rapidly growing user base.

In 2012, Facebook became Instagram's biggest investor by acquiring the company for approximately $1 billion. This acquisition helped facilitate Instagram's even faster growth and provided more resources for the platform to add new features.

Instagram continued to receive a series of investments in the following years. In 2013, Sequoia Capital invested approximately $50 million in Instagram, and the company's value reached $500 million. In 2014, Facebook launched "Instagram Partners," a venture capital fund created by Instagram's executives to provide additional resources for Instagram.

In 2018, Instagram received a $125 million investment from Intrinsic Capital Partners, founded by Mike Antonov, one of the founders of Oculus VR, which is also owned by Facebook. This investment helped provide additional resources for Instagram to add new features and reach more users.

Today, Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms worldwide, with billions of users. Instagram's success is largely due to the resources provided by its investors, as well as the innovative features, user-friendliness, and strong brand image it offers to its users.

Sponsored Posts: Accounts with a large following and high engagement rates on Instagram can make money by sharing products or services with their followers. These types of posts are called sponsored posts, and brands often collaborate with influential account owners by offering free products or services.

Business Account: By opening a business account on Instagram, you can promote your products or services to your followers. A business account also allows you to sell your products on the Instagram Shop.

Affiliate Marketing: Affiliate marketing is a business model where your followers can generate income for you by purchasing your products. By joining an affiliate program, you can earn commissions by promoting brands' products to your followers.

Instagram Ads: Instagram allows advertisers to publish ads on the platform. You can create your own ad or make money by publishing ads for brands.

Collaborations: Collaborations are another option for making money by partnering with brands for joint campaigns. For example, you can host a brand launch or participate in a brand event to make money.

It is up to you to choose which method to use, but increasing your follower count and maintaining a high engagement rate are important for making money on Instagram.
