How to read a book?
Maximise the benefits you get out a book and make it worth your while
Ok so we all have read books...we have been reading since a long time but the question is ,did we do it right?.You know when you invest your valuable time into something you want to maximise the benefits and the same goes with reading books too.In this article not only will I discuss the huge difference that reading does to us but will share the ways in which you can maximise your reading potential.
1.To get the most out of books, read regularly
So think of it as going to the gym,the more you train a muscle, the more exhausted it gets and you see muscle growth. Same goes with reading, the more you read the better you get in understanding things, your perspective of seeing things changes , you continually learn new aspects and implement them .
2. Practice speed reading
Our brain likes speed, it doesn't want to remain in a slow or stagnant pace. For example , you and your friends are walking and he overtakes you and you have a sudden feeling of catching up. That's your brain's natural instincts.
So some tips for reading fast are:
☆your brain can process 300 words per minute on an average which is a single page, try reading and processing the words faster and go upto 600 words per minute because the average word consist of 4 to 5 letters and you have already have come across it,so it makes it easier.
3. It's okay to not complete the book
So don't get me all wrong, what I mean to say is that it's okay if you lost interest in a book and left it halfway or you know what the moral of that example is. Before starting the book, go through the contents and see which topic you really wanna read and which topic can benefit you.Lets agree that there are certain topics which we find helpful and cant relate ,so it's better to leave that topic and invest that valuable time somewhere else.
Sometimes we feel like its our moral obligation to complete the book and suppose we couldn't do it, we feel guilty and what that does is it creates a sense of guilt which ultimately slows us down or in some cases , stop reading which we totally want to avoid.
4.Take notes
Our brain has the capacity to store a lot of information but recalling that information when it's truly required is a challenging task. So,take a pen and a journal or anything you feel convenient to write on and start writing down the important points , now keep in mind that you don't have to write down another book. When you see a juicy point or a golden nugget of information just write it down and be creative like draw patterns and tables to highlight the facts .
We invest so much time in reading books so why not make it worth our while , some may disagree with me as to why make notes , as for me it helps me remember what I read if you have anything else that helps as long as you can recall what you read, you are good to go!
5. Know Your Type
If you are someone who wants to start reading instead of picking a classic like a taboo try something you genuinely want to read be it of any genre.Once you get into the habit you can slowly expand and experiment with books of different genres
As a beginner, taking the first step is always difficult. So start reading something you really enjoy spending your time in like sports, romance , fantasy or be it self development books. This way you will feel less bored and once you get the taste , believe me you wont get up until you finish that book.
● Because Why Not
If just picking up something and reading it can add value to our lives , improve us as better persons and our day to day activities as well as how we look at things why should we not improvise and make the most out of reading , why not? What is our excuse for that?
Reading the life long research an author made on that topic or learning the secrets of a successful business is only gonna benefit us if we play our cards right and make the most out of it. So to your reading game up to the next level keep these things in mind and I hope you will see the results you are expecting.
So these were some tips that I hope you will find helpful while reading a book and now that there's no need for that book to get dusty on that shelf , go start reading buddy!

wow
I don't really like reading books that much. Since I was a kid it's hard to make me, always with tears only. When I finish this process, I realize that a lot of things I just haven't memorized. I like to buy research papers, I use https://paperell.net/buy-research-papers for that. It's as simple and straightforward as possible. The most important information I need and nothing unnecessary. In general I heard there is a method how to learn information better. you just need to read 10 pages a day. Then our brain has time to remember everything. I have not tried it, but friends said it works.
