How ChatGPT Became my Secret Assistant

And How It Can Help You too

By Alisha SchmidtPublished 2 years ago • 2 min read

I used to scroll TikTok at 2 a.m. thinking, How do these moms have it all figured out? They were running businesses, posting daily, selling products, and somehow still had clean houses and calm energy. Meanwhile, I had sticky counters, 34 open tabs on my phone, and no idea how to launch my candle line, let alone grow a digital income.

That changed when I started using ChatGPT—aka my secret assistant, planner, coach, and idea machine.

At first, I thought it was just for nerdy stuff or boring homework answers. But once I realized how smart and creative it was, I started using it for everything.

Let me break down exactly how it works and how it helped me glow up my business, content, and mindset:

⸻

What Is ChatGPT?

Think of it like a super-smart friend who never sleeps. You can ask it anything—from writing product descriptions to planning your week or coming up with content for your business. It’s like having a personal assistant in your pocket… who doesn’t need coffee breaks.

⸻

How I Use It Daily

Here’s just a few ways I personally use ChatGPT:

1. Content Planning for TikTok

I asked, “Can you help me plan a week of TikToks for my small candle business?” and boom—seven ideas, each with hooks, call-to-actions, and even sound suggestions.

2. Product Descriptions for My Shop

I struggle with writing that cute but clear product copy for my candles and (soon) shirts. ChatGPT took my rough notes and turned them into descriptions that actually sell.

3. Digital Product Creation

I wanted to create a checklist for moms trying to grow a side hustle—but had no idea how to start. ChatGPT helped me outline it, write the text, and even gave me Canva layout ideas.

4. Affiliate Marketing Help

I’m in the TikTok affiliate program, and I used ChatGPT to write engaging scripts for product reviews, comparison videos, and even my “link in bio” blurb. Game-changer.

5. Brainstorming & Naming Products

Naming candles with attitude? Done. I told it my vibe (funny, maybe with swear words) and got a list of perfect names like “Smells Like You Tried” or “Don’t Talk to Me.”

⸻

Other Things It Can Do (That I Didn’t Expect)

• Write emails to brands for collabs

• Create meal plans and grocery lists

• Make a bedtime story for your kid with their name in it

• Build a step-by-step business plan

• Draft captions for Instagram or Pinterest

• Explain taxes like you’re five

• Help you practice interview questions

Basically, if you can think it, ChatGPT can help you do it faster.

⸻

Is It Free?

Yup. You can use ChatGPT for free at chat.openai.com. There’s a paid version too (ChatGPT-4), but I started with the free version and it handled most things like a pro.

⸻

Final Thoughts: My Digital Bestie

If you’re trying to build a brand, grow a side hustle, or just manage the chaos of life—don’t sleep on ChatGPT. It’s not cheating. It’s leveraging a tool that saves you hours of mental burnout and gets you one step closer to your goals.

So if you’re sitting there wondering what to post next, how to make money from home, or what to name your next product—open ChatGPT and just ask. You don’t need to know how to ask it perfectly. Just start typing like you’re texting a friend. It’ll take it from there.
