Future of Indian Childrens

Awareness to Childrens world

By Ponmudi DharaniPublished about a year ago 3 min read

India has a large population of children, and their future is of great importance to the country's development. Education is a key factor in shaping the future of children in India, and the government has made efforts to increase access to education for all children, including those from disadvantaged communities. However, challenges such as poverty, lack of resources, and discrimination still exist and must be addressed in order to ensure that all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Additionally, issues such as child labor, child marriage and child abuse also need to be addressed, as they can greatly impact the future of children in India. Ensuring that children have access to good healthcare, nutrition and safe living environment is also crucial for their future.

Awareness about the world of children is important for ensuring that their rights and needs are met. This includes understanding the challenges that children may face, such as poverty, discrimination, and lack of access to education and healthcare. Additionally, it also includes understanding the importance of child development and the impact of different experiences on a child's well-being.

Creating awareness about children's rights and needs can help to mobilize efforts to support and improve the lives of children. This can be done through education, media campaigns, and community engagement. It is also important to involve children themselves in these efforts, as their perspectives and voices are valuable in understanding their experiences and needs.

Additionally, it is also important to be aware of cultural and societal differences that can impact children's experiences, such as traditional practices, religious beliefs, and attitudes towards gender roles. By being aware of these factors, we can work to create inclusive and equitable environments for children of all backgrounds.

Child labor is generally considered to be a bad thing, as it can have negative impacts on children's physical and mental well-being, as well as their education and future opportunities. Children who work long hours in hazardous conditions may experience health problems and injuries, and may be at risk for abuse and exploitation. They also may miss out on educational opportunities, which can limit their future prospects and ability to contribute to society.

However, in some cases, child labor may be seen as a necessary survival strategy for families living in poverty. Children may work to help support their families and provide for basic needs. In such situations, it is important to address the root causes of poverty and provide alternative means of support to families, rather than simply prohibiting child labor.

In any case, it's important to note that child labor is illegal under international labor laws, and also it is considered as violation of human rights. The International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that there are around 152 million children aged 5 to 17 are in child labor worldwide, of which around 73 million children are in hazardous work. Therefore, efforts should be made to eliminate child labor, and ensure that children are able to enjoy their rights to education, play and a safe childhood.

The school life of children in India varies depending on the region and socio-economic status of the child. However, some common challenges faced by children in India include lack of access to quality education, poor infrastructure, and shortage of trained teachers.

Many children in rural areas or from low-income families may not have access to schools or may not be able to afford the costs associated with education. Additionally, schools in these areas may not have adequate facilities or resources, such as books and computers. There are also issues with teacher absenteeism and lack of qualified teachers, which can negatively impact the quality of education that children receive.

On the other hand, urban areas and private schools generally have better facilities, resources and trained teachers which can provide better education to children.

The government has made efforts to improve access to education for all children, including through programs such as the Right to Education Act (RTE) which aims to ensure that all children have access to free and compulsory education. However, implementation of these policies and programs can be inconsistent, and more work is needed to ensure that all children have access to quality education.

In addition to academic subjects, there is a need for teaching life skills and values such as hygiene, nutrition, physical and mental health and overall well being of the children. The school curriculum should also include activities that promote creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
