All parents, at some point, notice that their toddlers are grasping new things every day. We often don’t realize the pace of cognitive development in children and think that we should teach them things at a slow and steady pace. But the truth is that parents must take advantage of the fact that toddlers and preschoolers can understand and retain a lot more than what we give them credit for. New-age parenting includes a number of learning games and activities from an early age to help kids prepare for the future. Today, there's a lot more being taught in school and many more skills that are required to cope with other kids. So, through some amazing educational games, we can sharpen skills in children without making it seem tedious.

Right from the start, parents must try to shun the 'baby talk' and use proper sentences and words while conversing with their kids. This will boost their language skills early on. As you help them get better with words, it's important to have them practice their spelling too. But if you try and make them write a word 10 times on a sheet of paper like how it was done before, they are going to get bored and disinterested in learning any new spellings. We're now living in the digital age, and that's a great thing because there are so many innovative online learning activities that we can engage our kids in. We've got some amazing math games for kids that will help your kids ace their math games while having loads of fun. Check them out.

1)  Town - Spelling City Games

Ideal for toddlers and preschoolers, the aim of this game is to build your own town. And to build that town, the player must complete various spelling tasks. With every correct spelling, new levels and power-ups are unlocked. Kids can have fun welcoming new citizens, building roads and houses across the town, planting trees, and customizing the town just the way they like. We've also added a few simple and basic math worksheet for preschoolers within this game to keep the learning going!

2)  Shape Sorter

Here's another maths learning game that will keep your toddler busy; it's a game that will work on their alphabet skills as well as spatial understanding. There's a cube that has slots for all alphabets and numbers; the player must figure out the shape of the alphabet and the correct slot for it. Along with alphabets and numbers, there are other shapes too - animals, vehicles, Christmas, etc. The game has amusing sounds and fun animation, making it an exciting one for kids.

Apart from spelling games for kids, we've got loads of other games for 9-year-olds and under, too, that focus on many academic and social skills. Take a look.

1)   Brainy City

This game is an excellent game to intrigue your child and increases their interest in the subject. It's an amusing game that has zoo animals on the loose, running all over the city. The only way to bring them back is by avoiding the obstacles and solving math puzzles. The game teaches kids about concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and much more.

2)   Fairy Tale

Here's a fascinating game that will open up a whole new fantasy world for your kids. They can watch a fairytale come to life! There are various jigsaw puzzles in the game of fairytale characters - dragons, wizards, fairies, etc. Once they piece it together properly, the character will come alive and prance around the screen. The simple and clear audio narration will teach kids the pronunciation of each word. Additionally, the game has many other features like putting together toys, discovering their powers, and using magic! It's a great game to enhance the vocabulary and fine motor skills of kids.
