Although I believe that it's a good idea to err in the direction of having a professional appearance, I've come to realize that the answer is that it's up to you.
In some teacher situations, wearing a professional dress code could distinguish between a successful lesson and complete failure. For others, the impact it has is almost non-existent.
Here's a disclaimer: I believe that each teacher should dress professionally and dress in a modest manner. All of us must be exemplary for our students, and we shouldn't distract them by what we wear (unless you're in spirit week, which is, of course.) However, the issue here will be whether it's necessary to pull out our suits and blazers each day. Women, would we really need to have a closet full of pantyhose? Are khaki capris or an occasional semi-casual top acceptable?

WHEN DO TEACHERS NEED TO DRESS PROFESSIONALLY?
I can see the necessity of dressing professionally but on an adjustable scale. Many variables influence this. Therefore you cannot only look at other teachers at your school and follow precisely the same thing they do.

The younger you get, the better. As I was just out of college, no matter which uniforms the experienced teachers in my college were sporting. I was young. Very young. Also, I wanted to look like an educator. It was evident that I needed my attire to stand out since my parents would think I was not a student on dress-down days.

The earlier it gets into the school year, the earlier it is in the. Even if you're an experienced senior person with everything in order, The first day of school is filled with new students who do not know you in any way. Therefore, dressing professionally for the first day of school is always a good idea. It is vital to make the first impressions count.
The more advanced your students are, the more advanced they are. If you teach children in preschool, they aren't likely to pay any at all for the dress you wear. They might appreciate the necklaces you wear. However, they'll never necessarily care if you're wearing it professionally. However, Suppose you're a teacher at the high school level (or maybe the middle school). In that case, the dress code becomes more important, especially if you're nearer to them.
The more involved parents are. When you interact with parents, you want them to consider you a skilled professional no matter your students' age. When it comes time to host parent-teacher conferences, orientations, or open houses, you most likely up your professionalism in your attire by a few notches.
The less you can project a natural air of authority. Some people radiate power. By just looking at them, students begin shaking their boots. It's not me. I am small, young, and naturally easy-going. I must build my authority by other means. Professional attire is definitely one of them.
The more formal the school's environment is, the more formal it is. The style of your school is an essential element. Some schools' acceptable attire for males includes a tie and suit. In other instances, an untidy shirt can make you appear highly professional. Consider this; however, remember that it's not the only thing to think about.
