As your final school project, decorating your graduation cap is a fun way to express yourself. Though not every school will allow you to wear them to the actual ceremony, you can always have some fun with an attachable option for grad photos.

Have some fun with this DIY art project, and bring out your creativity to express yourself as a graduate. You're always going to look back at these photos, so make it worthwhile.

Avoid the graduation freakout by taking some time to concentrate on this small project. With a simple trip to the craft store and a photo or video reference, it's much easier than you think. Here are some of the best ways to decorate your graduation cap; which one speaks to you?

Student Loans: Cue the 'Jaws' Music

As one of the most hilarious ways to decorate your graduation cap, Instagram user @jaccalhounart has created a tribute to Steven Spielberg's Jaws, and the terror that is familiar to the thought of student loans.

Unfortunately, loans are a very popular weight over many students shoulders. But poking fun at them and enjoying your ceremony while refusing to think of your bank account is a perfect way to end your last year at school and receive that degree.

YouTube tutorials are your best friend when it comes to anything crafty, especially if you aren't an experienced DIYer. As one of the most simple ways to decorate your graduation cap, YouTuber ChristinaBeaty2You has created a simple tribute to her degree.

The one in her video happens to be a B.S. health program, but you can take her tools and instructions and use them for your own degree. Plus, she uses a bunch of adorable glitter and bling, what more could you ask for?

I "wined" a lot in college.

Instagram user @peanutbuttafit has another adorable, yet hilarious take on a graduation cap decoration. With her little wine stickers and subtle bling, the cap is classy yet funny.

She even added a few bunches of grapes to add to her pun. And hey, who can't say that they whined their way through college courses? A few glasses of wine never hurt anybody.

I have to admit, I think this is one of my favorite ways to decorate your graduation cap, and regret not doing so at my own graduation. When I first saw the cap, I totally thought it said Gold Digger, but when I got a closer look, I couldn't help but smirk. With its over-the-top design and oversized flowers, YouTuber Natalie Cabral takes her followers through each step toward achieving this crafty masterpiece.

It's sure to get some laughs and a few eye rolls, but what a better time to do so then while graduating? Plus, it has a great message. This girl doesn't need to be a gold digger, and has a much brighter path ahead of her.

Sweet and Simple: Thanking Mom and Dad

If you want to keep things simple and sweet, while still being able to remain creative, this tribute to your parents is the perfect way to do so.

Created by @emily_on_emory on Instagram, she has painted her own world in the center of the cap, giving her credit to her mom and dad. The black lining makes it look put together and clean. Plus, her penmanship is on point. Give it a shot yourself!

Another beautiful tribute to a promising future, this idea by YouTuber The Cashlorette is one of the best ways to decorate your graduation cap. Her video is very well put together and easy to follow. Plus, the steps aren't too complicated.

Most of the design relies on calligraphy, and there's plenty of instructions online to practice this on some scrap paper beforehand. She then paints some simple dots on each corner, and that's it!

Nothing beats a 'Friends' reference.

I had to include one TV show reference on this list, as there are a plethora of different tributes online. I chose this one because most everyone will understand it, and it's short and sweet.

Created by @emilybeasty on Instagram, the cap says "the one where I graduate" and a small reference to her graduation year. What seems to be easy to recreate, the cap is mostly painted with some calligraphy.

Another favorite of mine, this cap uses a lyric from the Academy Award-winning movie, La La Land. The song is called "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)" and it is sung by Emma Stone.

As one of the most creative ways to decorate your graduation cap, the lyric is, "Here's to the ones who dream, foolish as they may seem," a perfect quote for a graduate. Plus, this video has a step-by-step process to achieve the ultimate grad cap decoration. Completed with stars and a moon, the cap is simple yet unique.

To Be Continued

Another inspirational and simple grad cap, this design by @ktaylerxx on Instagram is beautiful. Created with a few flowers on each corner, and a color scheme that is unique and not over the top, the little bit of bling adds a bit of character, and allows the quote to be the main focus.

Plus, if you really don't know what you want to write on your cap, this is a perfect phrase, as you are entering the next phase in your life, whether you know where it is going to take you or not. Because it's okay to not have a plan after University.

Last one this list of the most creative ways to decorate your graduation cap, I adored this super girly and bold design. Created by Karlee Beauty on YouTube, she shows you each of the tools and supplies she used to create her cap, as well as the process she used.

With little to no talent needed, simply rely on the craft supplies to do the work for you, you're simply cutting, gluing, and placing. You'll have a glamorous grad cap that will encourage you to always dream big.
