“To be always united with Jesus, this is my plan of life”. These few words Carlo Acutis, the boy who died of leukaemia, said outline the distinctive feature of his short life: living with Jesus, for Jesus, in Jesus.

Carlo's cause for canonization was opened in 2013. Early in 2020, Pope Francis approved a miracle attributed to Carlo: the healing of a young Brazilian boy from a rare congential disease of the pancreas after he touched a photo of Carlo. On October 10, 2020, Carlo was proclaimed Blessed at Assisi, where he is buried.

Acutis died of acute leukemia on Oct. 12, 2006. He was put on the road to sainthood after Pope Francis approved a miracle attributed to Acutis: The healing of a 7-year-old Brazilian boy from a rare pancreatic disorder after coming into contact with an Acutis relic, a piece of one of his T-shirts.

Carlo Acutis, a Catholic Italian teenager who died in 2006, will be beatified Oct. 10 in Assisi. Acutis, a gamer and computer programmer who loved soccer and the Eucharist, has been the subject of interest around the world. Pope Francis referred to Carlo as a model of holiness in a digital age.

Blessed Carlo Acutis.

In the heart of Italy, in the picturesque town of Assisi, lived a young boy named Carlo Acutis. Carlo was unlike any other child his age - wise beyond his years, deeply spiritual, and filled with an unwavering love for God.

From a young age, Carlo had a deep fascination with technology. He spent hours tinkering with computers, teaching himself programming languages, and delving into the intricacies of the digital world. But amidst his love for technology, Carlo never lost sight of his faith, viewing it as a tool to spread the message of God's love to the world.

As Carlo grew older, his passion for technology only intensified. He saw the potential for using the internet as a platform to share his faith with others, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to this mission. He created websites and online forums dedicated to spreading the teachings of the Catholic Church, reaching out to people of all ages and backgrounds with his message of love and compassion.

But Carlo's journey was not without its challenges. Despite his best efforts, he faced criticism and skepticism from those who doubted the sincerity of his faith and the effectiveness of his methods. But Carlo remained steadfast in his belief that technology could be used as a force for good in the world, and he refused to be deterred by the naysayers.

One of Carlo's most notable projects was the creation of a website cataloging Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He traveled to various countries, collecting information and documentation on these miraculous events, and painstakingly compiled them into an online database for all to see. His website attracted millions of visitors from across the globe, drawing attention to the wonders of the Eucharist and inspiring countless people to deepen their own faith.

But Carlo's greatest legacy was yet to come. In 2006, at the young age of 15, Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia, a devastating blow for someone so young and full of life. But even in the face of his illness, Carlo remained unwavering in his faith, finding solace and strength in his relationship with God.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Carlo continued to use technology as a means of spreading his message of hope and love. He documented his journey on social media, sharing his thoughts, prayers, and reflections with his followers in a raw and honest manner. His posts touched the hearts of millions around the world, inspiring them to find hope and courage in their own lives.

Despite undergoing grueling treatments and facing unimaginable pain, Carlo never wavered in his faith. He saw his illness not as a curse, but as an opportunity to draw closer to God and to inspire others to do the same. And even as his health declined, he remained a beacon of light and hope for all who knew him.

On October 12, 2006, Carlo Acutis passed away, leaving behind a legacy that would continue to inspire generations to come. His life may have been short, but his impact on the world was immeasurable. Through his unwavering faith, his dedication to spreading the message of God's love, and his innovative use of technology, Carlo touched the lives of millions and left an indelible mark on the world.

In 2019, Carlo was declared Venerable by the Catholic Church, a recognition of his heroic virtue and his unwavering commitment to serving God and others. And though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by his remarkable life and legacy.

Carlo Acutis may have been a boy of the digital age, but his message of faith, hope, and love transcends time and technology. He serves as a shining example of what it means to live a life of purpose and meaning, and his story continues to inspire and uplift all who hear it.
