APJ Abdul Kalam was an Indian scientist, politician, and author who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India.

Kalam completed his education in physics and aerospace engineering and started his career as a scientist in 1960 at the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). He made significant contributions to India's civilian and military space programs, including the development of ballistic missile technology.

In 1998, Kalam played a crucial role in the successful nuclear weapons tests conducted by India, making the country a nuclear power. He received several awards and honors for his work, including the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, in 1997.

After retiring from his scientific career, Kalam served as the President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was known as the "People's President" and was widely respected for his humility, vision, and dedication to serving the country.

Apart from his scientific and political achievements, Kalam was also a prolific writer and authored several books, including Wings of Fire, Ignited Minds, and My Journey: Transforming Dreams into Actions.

Kalam passed away on July 27, 2015, while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. He remains beloved and inspirational
