The next few book reviews I reviewed for the National Nonfiction Writer's Group of America. To me they were very interesting and useful. The first review is for:
Brain Games Mighty Book of Mind Benders
Stephanie Warren Drimmer & Dr. Gareth Moore
2019
ISBN: 978-1-4263-3285-2
National Geograhic Partners, LLC
158 pages
Who doesn't like to play games and thinking games that let us have fun and learn at the same time. 'Brain Games' lets the reader be a learner and learn various thinking skills in areas ranging in and from optical illusions to number puzzles and even making one's own brain game. The images that Stephanie Drimmer and Dr. Moore chose throughout the book were very intriguing for each of the sections of the book from subjects like health to language to problem-solving and improving memory skills.
This is a book of extra credit that teachers could use in an upper elementary and even a middle school classrooms. The optical illusions were fun to do and the readers will never guess what they are doing--learning in a fun way and that is what learning is all about.

The second review of this series is about the following:
Student World Atlas
National Geographic Kids
2019
ISBN: 978-1-4263-3479-5
natgeo.com
144 pages
National Geographic Kids 'Student World Atlas' is a vivid book with glossy pages and pictures to help teachers and students at all educational levels about maps of all kinds from physical systems to the continents and the various countries within those continents and the world in general. This activity book/reference book will also show us how we all live in our various cultures both physically and emotionally. Other ideas that can be learned and/or even memorized are the flags of the world page and a few other skills that are needed in all skills areas.
This book would be a good book for teachers and even counselors to improve teaching in the diversity areas at home and at school. They can or could create puzzles and even geography quizzes for their classrooms. Teachers and even parents can do the activities together as discovery activities and share memories especially the parents who may have done some of these activities when they were in school.

The third book for this association is as follows:
The Dragon Grammar Book: Grammar for Kids, Dragons, and Whole Kingdoms
Diane Mae Robinson
What a way to teach and review English grammar. This book is a way to learn English grammar within a story. The Dragon Grammar Book is a textbook within a storybook that is about a princess, a dragon, and the Kingdom in which they live along with a magician. These characters learn grammar and punctuation rules when living their story. The illustrations that are done in black and gray tell the story of the Kingdom and the dragon and the princess all begin their adventure in learning English grammar. The pictures were creative and detailed in how they described the characters as well as showing the story.
Technically, this is a textbook that is comprehensive that teaches and reviews the grammar and punctuation rules. In reading the book and enjoying the pictures and the book reminded me in a way of those 'Schoolhouse Rock' cartoon lessons that were on television back in the seventies and early eighties that taught the various academic subjects for elementary and middle school students, and in this case 'Grammar Rock'. 'The Dragon Grammar Book' is a great resource for classroom teachers as well as parents who happen to home school their children. It is also a book that covers grammar issues, for example 'neither-either'; 'between-among'; 'who-whom'; and 'affect-effect' as well as other grammatical issues we all seem to need to learn and deal with in all our writing projects. The quizzes throughout the book covered each chapter and the test at the end was comprehensive of the whole book.
---------------
I hope you enjoy these reviews and with school only a few weeks away maybe teachers and parents can review these skills.
