Canada is battling its worst Wildfire season since records began. A state of emergency is in force in some areas, and the military is helping to evacuate tens of thousands of people. uh from Homes at risk. Now there are hopes that the worst is over, but the destruction is already massive. The memories that once lived in the small community of Enterprise all wiped away in an instant. Nearby, in West Kelowna, residents flee as the Flames close in. Many had only a few hours to leave all they had behind. More than one thousand wildfires are burning across Canada, half of them out of control. British Columbia and the Northwest Territories Northwest of Toronto are some of the hardest hit areas. Some 27000 people are under orders to evacuate; wildfires are not unusual in Canada, but this is the most destructive Fire season on record. Around 15 million hectares of land have been torched this year-more than three times as much as in 2021. Drought conditions that brought little rain this summer are one factor; another factor is Rising temperatures at least in parts of Canada that's according to scientists with the World Weather Attribution study. Researchers measured how much climate change influence wildfires that raged in Quebec between January and July; The kind of intensity of Fire season that we've seen is twice as likely to occur these days as it would have been without global warming-without human induced global warming study did not include this week's fires, but the authors say there's a general Trend we can expect to keep seeing these conditions that promote fires to keep on increasing becoming more frequent becoming more severe: Government authorities are warning people to stay indoors in some areas- hazardous smoke blankets the country; travelling as far as the United Statesbut for many evacuees it's news of when they can return home that they're desperate for more information . on this from Louisa Osborne DW's climate reporter: Welcome Louise! We just published an article about how firefighters are struggling against some intense flames where Canadians were forced to evacuate their homes due to Wildfires spreading rapidly across various parts of North Americathis week taking one community after another with it and leaving behind utter destructionone resident shared"It feels like our world has ended"heard that the environmental change has expanded the force of the flames made them two times as liable to happen so talk us through what that implies so the thing they're referring to really is what they call fire climate and this is the dry blistering circumstances breezy likewise that lead to the deteriorating of these sorts of flames and we're not discussing the way that they've begun we're discussing the way that they have spread

these circumstances have been made two times as probable by environmental change so the consuming of petroleum derivatives 15 million hectares as we've quite recently heard that is two times however much past records has been singed currently this year and the creators said that that was totally surprising and they've said

that these are moderates gauges that they've made about this being two times as possible and the environment effect could really have been all the more right and is this likewise the situation for the rapidly spreading fires that we've seen somewhere else in Hawaii and Tenerife for instance so

extremely quick to credit previously read up for court to be aware without a doubt without

having done that examination however Frederica Otto who is one of the organizers behind world climate attribution which led this

concentrate on said that almost certainly, environmental change has had an effect in

Greece and Spain for instance where we've seen extremely high temperatures this late spring and where we've seen these huge fires occurring strangely however she said she was unable to say the equivalent regarding Hawaii where we've additionally seen these large flames just since the information doesn't actually exist for this island and the models that they need to make these attribution concentrates on make it more challenging to view at Hawaii as a case.
