If you want to be king in DC Comics, then you must, first of all, be fully equipped, have hands to take the trident, body to wear bright gold armor. Secondly, the physical quality to be strong, at least to be able to swim more than 3000 meters per second. In addition, amphibious breathing, and control of marine life such professional skills are no less.

And if it is in real life?

Needless to say, humans were eliminated before they entered the primary election. We cannot breathe underwater, not to mention the king of the sea, even the sea soldiers can not be. So what kind of creature can become the king of the sea in the end? If judged according to size, it should be the blue whale. The blue whale is the largest animal on earth, more than 30 meters long, weighing more than 160 tons, and eating 2 tons of food every day. But only eating small fish and shrimp, the gentle blue whale certainly can not be the king of the sea, at most only in the sea world to take a height first world record.

To find a worthy king of the sea, we have to go back to 75 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period, when there was a creature living in the ocean, it is synonymous with terror, the megalodon shark with it is small compared to the big witch. It was the Stegosaurus.

The Canglong is a huge marine reptile. No one could have imagined that a tiny land lizard would adapt to the ocean at an astonishing rate in the last 20 million years of the Mesozoic Era and quickly evolve into a marine juggernaut that would be feared by all sea creatures. Stegosaurus roamed the late Cretaceous oceans, ousting the once dominant snake-necked and Epinephelus-like creatures from their thrones.

With its huge head and sharp teeth, the crocodile-like Cang Dragon favorite food items were snake teeth and golden chef sharks. The snake tooth dragon with sharp teeth can reach 3.6 meters in length, while the golden chef shark with speed and endurance can reach 8 meters in length. In addition, the fierce Cangosaurus would also feed on its relatives. Just as the Cangosaurus was reigning in the ocean, their good times were ended by an asteroid from the universe. Along with them, about 75% of the world's species, including dinosaurs and pterosaurs, were terminated at that time.

So the question is, how did scientists discover this long-extinct sea king? It all started in Maastricht.

Maastricht is located in the Netherlands, where a mountain is rich in chalk ore. Workers in the mining found a lot of fossils buried inside the mine. Hoffmann, an army doctor who lived in the area, was interested in these fossils and often acquired various fossils from the miners.

In 1774, he bought a peculiar fossil from the miners that he had never seen before. It was a large fossilized jaw bone with sharp teeth. However, this peculiar fossil also soon attracted the attention of others. The owner of the mine thought that the fossil was excavated from his mine and belonged to him, so he took Hoffman to court. Later, the court awarded the fossil to Father Godin. Father Godin, who had the fossil, built a chapel for the fossil and placed the fossil in it.

In 1795, Napoleon's armies swept across the European continent. The French army captured Maastricht during the war, and the French commander gave orders not to destroy the church where the fossil was placed. Father Godin sent his men to hide the fossils. Unexpectedly, the French army commander offered a high price for the fossil, 600 bottles of fine wine! The French soldiers, who liked to drink, exploded, and within two days several soldiers came with the fossil to collect the reward.

After the fossil fell into the hands of the French, it was transported to Paris, where it was analyzed and studied by the famous anatomist Gouvrier. It was not until 1822 that the fossil, called "a huge animal from Maastricht", was officially named "Mosasaurus of the Meuse". Since then, paleontologists have continued their research and discoveries, and we are now able to learn some details about the Cangosaurus.

After reading the introduction of Canglong, I couldn't help but shudder. The most feared creature on earth is the crocodile, and the Canglong is a crocodile plus version. Reality is too scary, I have to go see the movie eight-pack abs & long legs of the King of the Sea, comforting the wounded soul!
