The 'Calvine Photo,' the world's clearest UFO photograph, has been found after it Went Missing For 32 years.

The Calvine photograph, which had been kept secret by the British Ministry of Defense for nearly three decades, has now been made public — but the men who took it remain unnamed.

On August 4, 1990, two hikers in Calvine, Scotland, spotted a big, diamond-shaped flying object in the sky. The hikers instantly photographed the UFO, but the images were never made public.

According to The Mirror, the hikers gave the photo negatives to Scotland's Daily Record newspaper, which then forwarded them to the British Ministry of Defense.

The photos then vanished at that point. The negatives have never been viewed since they reached the Ministry of Defense, claims British journalist David Clarke. The Daily Record claims they never got them and has no idea what happened to them, despite the Ministry of Defense's claims that they were returned to them. There are several questions that need to be addressed.

The Original photos captured by the hikers

But now, as a result of Clarke's perseverance, one of the Calvine images has been unearthed 32 years after it was originally taken.

Clarke spent 13 years looking for the Calvine photograph before discovering that Craig Lindsay, a former Royal Air Force press officer, still had a copy of it.

It turns out that Lindsay had kept the original photograph, which was still in its Daily Record envelope, in the hopes that someone might want it one day.

Lindsay had kept the original photo still inside its Daily Record envelope, anticipating that someone would come seeking it one day.

The Ministry of Defense in London then asked him to obtain the negatives, after Lindsay received the photos from the Daily Record and delivered them to the Ministry of Defense. So he went back to the Daily Record and requested they send the negatives to London, which they miraculously did—and that's when the pictures vanished.

While the discovery and recovery of the photo was a significant step forward in UFO study, the identity of the hikers who took it remain unknown.

Having said that, there is a record of the two hikers' description of the occurrence from 1990.

According to Newsweek, the two guys were working as chefs in a hotel in Pitlochry, Scotland's Highlands. They decided to go for a walk in the hills near Calvine on that fateful August evening, when they noticed the UFO flying softly through the skies.

A military plane had also flown past the UFO, appearing to slow down to have a better look at it before speeding off.

They saw something in the sky that startled them, Clarke explained. They rushed into some bush to sort of keep their heads down, and they heard this aircraft fly down the valley and then, two minutes later, it returned and started circling about the item. That's when they took the pictures."

Despite the clarity of the photo and the media attention, those men have never officially stepped forward.

Of course, speculations regarding the UFO's origins have emerged both online and in print, with some claiming the item was created by humans and others believing it was created by aliens.

Clarke, for what it's worth, prefers the former.

Unfortunately, I do not believe that strange aircraft landed from another galaxy, Clarke wrote in the Daily Mail. I believe it was created by humans someplace in a hidden hangar — and whatever it was remains classified and highly sensitive.

Nick Pope, the former leader of the British government's UFO study project

One possible explanation is that the UFO in Calvine's photos is the "Aurora," a top-secret aircraft supposedly created by the US in the 1980s — but the US government denies that such a project ever existed.

However, in an article for The Scottish Sun, Nick Pope, the former leader of the British government's UFO study project, indicated that he believes "dark forces" were at work in the Ministry of Defense - that someone had ruined the investigations.

An intelligence officer investigated all probable causes of the Calvine UFO. He jerked his hand to the left, indicating that it was not Russian. He made a right hand motion and stated that it was not American. He fixed his gaze on Pope and stated that there was just one possibility left.

He raised his finger straight up, Pope recalled. Both my supervisor and I couldn't help but gaze up. Then we gazed at each other before returning our gaze to the intelligence officer. His expression was enigmatic.
