How come recycling does not work

Waste is a big problem we all know that and so with everything we agree is a problem, we try to find a solution to it.

And some people may disagree with what we see as the current solution to our waste.

But for the most part the solution are landfill. The vast majority of the wast we produce are thrown landfills and truly, all that a landfill is a place where waste gets dumb far a way from where human habitat and ground water.

It is basically a place to dispose waste. And that is what we see as the main solution as it is the most common type of waste disposal.

But this does not get rid of waste it just stores it somewhere so it is not really clearing solution but a storage solution.

There are other things attributed to landfill that could not be beneficial. one of it been environmental concern the main problem with landfill are the creation of greenhouse gases which end up into the air people breath.

So clearly landfills are inefficient but despite it it has been the most common type of disposing our waste which again does not really solve to problem of waste but instead place it somewhere else.

there have been other types of dealing with waste that have emerge with time and that are currently used today.

But there real reason why landfill have been the most common form of waste disposal is because it is also the oldest form of waste disposal and so it has been the form of waste disposal that have been in used the most and this is the reason it is the most common type.

But recently the arrival of waste management alternatives such as recycling or incineration have been put to practice.

But since they have been put to practice just very recently, they are not very wide spread the world still depends heavily on landfill as a way of solving its waste problem.

the thing is that it is not really a form of solving waste problem.

Which is in fact the real reason why those other new alternative have been propose to actually find a way to solve the waste problem a good way to look at this is to analyse what it is that each method of waste disposal does.

recycling is the process of turning something that has no use, waste in this case into something reusable and thus useful. which is how it gets rid of waste because after the waste is recycled, there is no more waste left.

And so this is a real solution to waste since it actually get rid of waste instead of landfill that doesn't get rid of waste but just store it somewhere else.

And the other disposal is incineration which is the process of turning waste into energy by burning it.

Incineration is a waste treatment process that involves the combustion of organic substances contained in waste materials.

This method like recycling actually gets rid of waste because after the incineration there isn't any other waste left. So both actually are solution to the waste problem.

Recycling especially is the reusing of material multiple times for multiple purposes.

the benefit of these is that it minimizes the amount of new resources that needs to be exploited each time.

And so this could be economically beneficial because exploiting new resources cost money and so it will be easier to simply reuse the resource that have already been exploited for other purpose.

So apart form the fact that it is something that has just recently been adopted world wide why isn't it wide spread and very common.

Well to be realistic, it is kind of wide spread about 88% of all of the steel been produced in north america get recycled and in the united kingdom about 45% of the total waste been produced gets recycled.

and about 95% of all vehicles that are made after their life cycle get recycled.

So in a way recycling is sort of wide spread the problem is that some of the material in some waste cannot be recyclable.

You often see it with some product or some water bottle that will have the logo below.

To show that they can be recycled. Put picture if it was possible to recycle absolutely every material multiple times over.

This certainly will not ensure that there are an endless amount of resources since all the resource could just be recycled.

Which means they even if all of the resource material that we made get can be recycled, we will still run out of earth based resources.

Because the population is increasing and thus the demand for more product is increasing so we will always need extra new resources to make for the increase population.

And that is truly what is meant when saying that recycling does not work. which is that even if all of the goods and product that we made where one hundred percent recyclable, the increasing population will guarantee that there will be a need to make brand new product.

and that will guarantee that there will always be a need to extract brand new resources.
