Don't look for extraterrestrial civilization, there is one within the Earth, scientists: in front of it human is a higher civilization

Humanity is a higher civilization

In the wilderness of the northeastern region of Brazil, there is a large colony of huge white ant nests, presumed to have existed 3,000 to 800 years ago and still in use and under construction until now. Its total area is about 228,000 square kilometers, and the mounds of earth visible on the surface exceed 200 million, which can even be photographed in outer space. By no coincidence, there is a giant red ant 1 on the seashore of Hokkaido The colony contains more than 300 million worker ants and 1.08 million queens, which live in 45,000 interconnected crypts that spread over an area of 27,000 square kilometers.

Perhaps you do not have any basic concept of these data, let's make a simple analogy, if the ants are compared to humans, the huge nest group is compared to a city, they build the nest group is equivalent to the human construction of more than 13,400 surface area of the Earth's cities, note that there is the surface area of the Earth, including the ocean. On the contrary, human beings, our activities are still limited to a range within the Earth. Of course, from a human point of view, the nest of ants looks like a very ordinary mound, this sparse and ordinary mound can not be called a building, since it is not considered a building, it has nothing to do with civilization.

The basic element of civilization is to have buildings, and perhaps many people do not know that ants' nests are not only buildings but also functional buildings. Before the British and American scientists formed a research team to study the huge anthills of the African Sahara, the whole study lasted 3 years, the scientists were surprised to find that no matter how the outside temperature shifts dramatically, the temperature in the anthill is little change. You know, the temperature difference in the Sahara desert is very large, the day can reach more than 40 degrees, and sometimes at night will drop to below zero degrees. Scientists found that no matter how the outside temperature changes, the temperature inside the nest, spring, summer, autumn, and winter are maintained at three degrees Celsius. Not only that, in some hot areas, the flue of some termite nests can be as high as more than 20 meters, which allows the nest to automatically regulate the air inside so that the nest maintains stable humidity.

In addition, the nest is not only the mound seen on the ground but also expands deep into the ground. The complex aisles in the nest form a network of aisles, which allow fresh air to enter, and at the same time, exhaust air from normal breathing is discharged, to avoid suffocation and death of fellow ants due to lack of fresh air. Now let's discuss whether a termite nest that can control temperature and ventilation like this can be called a building. Can we build a building with these functions without relying on electricity and fire? For this reason, some designers have been inspired by termite nests to build large buildings with passive cooling, which is only one of the functions of anthills.

Fifty million years ago, the ancestors of the little ants, the leaf-cutting ants, started to plant fungi, and since then they have gradually trained new seedlings one by one, and they continue to train new seedlings in rotation until today. Scientists have discovered a unique fungus in anthills in Africa that is not found anywhere else in the world, and it is probably unimaginable that termites are using this fungus to convert wood pulp into plant fiber for building their nests, and also to break down sugar for their energy. They have mastered the use of various antibiotics and microorganisms in recent tens of millions of years, and you'd be even harder pressed to believe that some colonies can train other insects to produce honeydew.

And in the last few tens of millions of years, they have continued to explore new domesticated organisms, and those they have domesticated have undergone behavioral and life cycle changes that we wouldn't call agriculture, right? Before ants could use tools, some ants were found to use dirt and gravel to collect liquids, and a few years ago a scientific experiment proved that ants can also select the most suitable tools from unfamiliar objects. The Hungarian research team conducted scientific experiments on small ants using small tools, including familiar twigs and dirt, as well as human paper and artificial sponges, to observe what tools the ants would pick to transfer honey.

If we were to leave it to us, then the sponge, in terms of efficiency, would undoubtedly be the best tool for transferring liquid honey. Of course, this is only after we were in God mode and understood the characteristics of sponges. The amazing thing is that although sponges are completely new to ants, they also make the same decisions as we do, and the ants will use those tools to carry out scientific tests one by one, and eventually decide on the sponge, and many ants will tear the sponge into smaller pieces so that it will be more convenient to carry. So not only can ants make use of tools, but they can also modify them, and there are even more powerful ants that can smelt metals to some extent. They will use formic acid to decompose zinc, magnesium, manganese, and even gold and silver and other metal materials, and then through the transformation of the material cycle, which is the way to eat to improve their body compressive strength, so kryptonite can indeed strengthen the equipment to a certain extent.

Let's understand another characteristic of the ant colony, in the ant colony, class differentiation is very prominent, which perhaps we all have some knowledge of, the division of responsibilities of the colony is very clear, and worker ants are responsible for most of the work in the colony, such as foraging, managing food, taking care of the young and taking care of the nest, etc. Worker ants are also responsible for digesting cellulose, so almost all of the ants found in wood are worker ants. There are both females and males in worker ants, but their reproductive organs degenerate and they usually cannot reproduce. The work of reproduction is done by special ants, that is, the king and queen, and the eggs laid by the queen are the same, but after hatching, there will be a difference.

The communication between ants will use something called pheromones, humans may never be able to read what the pheromones mean, and do not hope that the ants can correctly understand our thoughts, so the communication between unequal civilizations is a big problem, this situation also applies to the relationship between higher civilizations and humans. Humans have been looking for extraterrestrial civilizations, probably in the eyes of some extraterrestrial civilizations, humans are just ants, but also speak some language called pheromones, which makes them want to communicate, but also no way to do so, and they know very well that humans may never understand it, just as ants can never understand humans.
