Irish Sailor

By Xanthe

Well, I’m just a sailor, don’t you know,

Gotta make it in before the snow.

I see land out there, but I’m not sure how far,

I pray we make it, I pray so hard.

I’m just an Irish sailor, the sea be my home,

But if we make landfall, I’ll sleep out of the snow.

I’m praying for my men I’m praying for my self I’m praying to my dad in heaven to ask him for his help

The sea, she’s unforgiving, like a woman crossed ever so,

But I have me a lassie, if I get to land, she’ll warm my cold hands. I know

I’m just an Irish sailor, the sea be my home,

But if we make landfall, I’ll sleep out of the snow.

I’m praying for my men I’m praying for my self I’m praying to my dad in heaven to ask him for his help

My da, he was a sailor, just like me,

But instead of fish, he sailed a stockpile of RPGs

Me old da, now not with us, I know what he’d say:

Fuck Donald Trump and up the IRA

I’m just an Irish sailor, the sea be my home,

But if we make landfall, I’ll sleep out of the snow.

I’m praying for my men I’m praying for my self I’m praying to my dad in heaven to ask him for his help
