"I'm in a world of shit, yes, but I'm alive and I'm not afraid." -Joker

Full Metal Jacket

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Kubrick relentlessly showcases human horrors, however brutal,

Never turning the camera away once.

Internal fears of failure of a jelly donut hidden, to destroy a whole Marine outfit

External hatred of leaving a girl to die

Just because she was part of the enemy state

A world of shit, alive.

Gosh, this one brings me back to when I was a poor college kid with no cable and about 8 DVDs constantly on repeat playing on a 19-inch TV. Great critique.
