Doctor Who: Fans Not Happy.

Woke Rides Again!

Doctor Who is either something you like or not. If you don't like it then you will never really understand the stories. If you like it in sci-fi terms its been the best thing since sliced bread (although some Trekkies might disagree). The Doctor with two hearts is a time-space travelling alien. His race is humanoid and their home world is the planet Gallifrey. The Time Lords the Doctor's people, are masters of space and time, hence their name. The Doctor though when it comes to his people has always been a bit of a maverick and loner. Much, to the displeasure of his people. His greatest enemy known as 'The Master' is also a renegade Time Lord who as opposed to the Doctor goes around the universe causing nothing but mayhem. Two of the Doctor's greatest enemies are the Cybermen and the Daleks.

Time Lords have an indefinite life span and can change into a new being still incorporating their personality much like when a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. The Doctor has taken various male forms over the decades and has been accompanied largely by female companions. These companions were either from Earth or from other planets who agreed to go along with the Doctor on His adventures.

The Doctor has always incorporated sci-fi and action/drama. As a kid, I used to love watching Doctor Who it was the highlight of Saturday night. The series would always leave you hanging to see if the Doctor would overcome His enemies. And as good always triumphs over evil, he often did.

Like everything the woke brigade does these days, they had to make sure the next incarnation of the Doctor was female. Needless, to say, Jody Whittaker who became the first female Doctor, brought with her woke politics. Whittaker's reign as the doctor didn't last long and didn't end well. Fans were not impressed, not they have anything against female actresses. On the contrary, it was the woke agenda that destroyed the vibe of the show. Like everything these days, everyone and everything living and breathing on God's Earth has to be represented. While inclusion is good, it is largely a forced agenda which turns many fans off including fans of Doctor Who.

So Jody Whittaker's time as the doctor ended. David Tennant who many regard as the best doctor for years came back briefly. Only to be replaced by the black and gay Ncuti Gatwa. The Jody Whittaker years had put the sci-fi programme in a nose dive as far as popularity was concerned. Now with writer Russel T. Davies incorporating the first black and gay doctor, it appears ratings were not good when the first two episodes of The New Doctor were shown. Even an injection of money and CGI from Disney might not be enough to save this version of the doctor. However, Disney is heavily woke these days so why would the series change? The Doctor hasn't changed it's more woke than ever. One of the doctor's new enemies is a demonic drag queen called 'Maestro'. Then there's the mentioning of woke agendas. One of the doctor's other new enemies was 'The Bogeyman. An alien creature made from the snot of space-faring babies (I kid you not!).

Statistics for the first two episodes of the new Doctor Who show put viewers at around 2.4 - 2.6 million. That is considerably down on past viewing figures. This survey did not record how many people tuned in to watch it on BBC I-Player. This survey was commissioned by 'TV-Zone'.

Many fans recorded their thoughts on social media about the new Doctor Who. On X, Facebook, etc, many of the comments were not good. One fan reportedly said "R.I.P. Doctor Who wow"! I guess that kind of says it all really.
