A Brief Thought: The Magic Flute
A (literal) few words on why this popular Mozart opera is not worth the hype.
The Magic Flute sucks. Why? It reeks of misogyny.
Its iconic music can’t make up for its problematic plotline.
Exhibit A: The Queen of the Night (a strong independent woman who tolerates zero BS from men) is portrayed as an arrogant b*tch.
I’m forever giving this opera the side eye.
