Does Creativity Get the Appreciation It Deserves? A Personal Reflection
Does Creativity Get the Appreciation It Deserves? A Personal Reflection Introduction: Creativity is a powerful force that allows individuals to express their deepest thoughts, emotions, and ideas. For many, it is not merely a hobby but a way of life—a means to connect with others, challenge norms, and leave a lasting impact. However, when this creative energy goes unrecognized or unappreciated, it can lead to profound frustration and self-doubt. This article delves into my personal journey as a creator on an online platform, exploring the challenges of gaining recognition, the value of time and effort, and the ways to navigate the complex dynamics of publishing. 1. The Issue of Recognition One of the most disheartening aspects of being a creator is the disconnect between effort and appreciation. Despite dedicating countless hours to crafting stories, poetry, and lyrical compositions, my work often struggles to gain traction. On other platforms like YouTube, my creations have amassed hundreds, even thousands of views. Yet, on this particular platform, the response has been underwhelming. This discrepancy raises an important question: why are these works published if they do not meet the platform's standards or audience expectations? The approval process suggests a level of quality, but the lack of engagement leaves creators feeling undervalued. 2. Balancing Personal Satisfaction and Financial Goals As a creator, I have always approached my work as a passion project rather than a source of income. However, even hobbies require encouragement to thrive. For those who rely on creative endeavors as a livelihood, the stakes are even higher. Platforms that fail to recognize or reward creativity risk alienating talented individuals who could otherwise contribute significantly to their communities. When neither personal satisfaction nor financial benefits are realized, the motivation to continue dwindles. Creators begin to question whether their time and energy could be better spent elsewhere. 3. Questioning Publishing Policies Another challenge is understanding the platform's policies and algorithms. How does the platform decide which works to promote? Are there specific strategies that creators can adopt to increase visibility and engagement? For instance, if my work falls short of expectations, I would appreciate constructive feedback to improve. Alternatively, if there are techniques to optimize my content for the platform, clear guidelines would be invaluable. Transparency in these processes could bridge the gap between creators and platforms, fostering a more supportive environment. 4. The Value of Time and Effort Creativity is an investment—not just of skill but also of time, effort, and emotional energy. Writing, editing, and perfecting a piece demands dedication. When these efforts yield little to no return, creators are left questioning their choices. Time is a finite resource, and for many, it is the most valuable asset. Wasting it on unproductive endeavors can lead to regret and a sense of lost opportunity. For me, as a consulting engineer in petroleum constructions, my professional commitments often compete with my creative pursuits. Ensuring that the latter feels meaningful is crucial to maintaining balance. 5. Practical Steps for Improvement To address these challenges, creators and platforms can take proactive measures: Engage with Platform Management: Reach out to understand the platform's goals and how to align content accordingly. Diversify Publishing Channels: Explore other platforms to broaden your audience and reduce reliance on a single outlet. Build a Personal Brand: Invest in self-promotion through social media, newsletters, and collaborations. Seek Constructive Feedback: Constructive criticism can be a powerful tool for growth, helping creators refine their craft. Conclusion: Creativity is an intrinsic part of human expression, deserving of recognition and encouragement. While external validation should not define a creator's worth, platforms have a responsibility to support and uplift the individuals who contribute to their ecosystems. By fostering transparency, providing feedback, and promoting engagement, platforms can create a mutually beneficial relationship with their creators. For creators like myself, the journey is not just about producing content—it is about finding purpose and fulfillment in the act of creation. Whether as a hobby or a profession, creativity thrives in an environment where it is valued and nurtured.

The Hole you left. Content Warning.
Truthfully I could have fixed this hole in my door right after you did it. However I just was more emotionally weak & stuck by the fact you did it. I always felt and was taught that as a man you should not cause further damage to a woman & if she has damage and you take her on as a partner you should not further damage her. So shouldn't you have been fixing the damage after the first injury? Instead you made the list of issues & damage longer and longer.

Recognise Your Own Existence
Recognise Your Own Existence Your greatest strength lies in recognising your own existence. At times, life may feel overwhelming. You might wonder, "Can I really achieve anything significant?" Circumstances may seem unfavourable, challenges unending, and the weight of responsibilities unbearable. You may feel powerless against the adversities you face. But these thoughts are often illusions—tricks of the mind. Within your existence lies all the strength you need to overcome any obstacle life throws your way. When you acknowledge the power within you, your life can transform. Every struggle, every challenge, becomes an opportunity if you choose to see it that way. While external support is often necessary, your true strength resides within—rooted in your confidence, self-esteem, and determination. The greatest adversary you face often comes from within. Negative thoughts, doubts, fears, and anxieties can trap you, making it harder to move forward. Yet, when you challenge these thoughts and awaken the strength within, new paths open. What you focus on magnifies. If you dwell on doubts, they grow. But when you approach life with confidence, you unlock possibilities at every turn. Recognising and embracing your strength empowers you to weather any storm. Your existence is not just physical; it is also mental and spiritual. Your thoughts, motivation, and willpower combine to create transformative change. Consider this example: imagine a seed buried deep in the soil. It could remain dormant, overwhelmed by the weight of the earth above it. But when it recognises its potential, it begins to sprout, pushing through the soil, inching towards sunlight. This small, seemingly insignificant seed grows into a mighty tree, capable of weathering storms, providing shade, and bearing fruit. Similarly, within you lies the power to grow, evolve, and thrive—regardless of your circumstances. When you think, “I can’t achieve this,” your internal strength should remind you otherwise. And when you say, “I can do this,” your existence aligns with your efforts, propelling you towards success. For instance, Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, faced countless failures before achieving success. He could have given in to doubt after a thousand unsuccessful attempts. Instead, he recognised his inner strength and famously said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” This belief in his own ability led to the invention that revolutionised the world. Another example is Helen Keller, who overcame the limitations of being deaf and blind to become an author, activist, and lecturer. Her unwavering belief in herself, coupled with the guidance of her teacher Anne Sullivan, demonstrated that recognising one’s inner strength can lead to extraordinary accomplishments. Your existence is powerful. You are not just a body or a mind; you are a combination of limitless potential and resilience. When you accept and harness this power, no problem or challenge can stand in your way. The journey begins with self-awareness. Pause and reflect on the moments in your life where you’ve shown strength, resilience, or courage. Those moments are evidence of the power you hold. Strength doesn’t mean the absence of fear or doubt—it means moving forward despite them. Finally, remember: your existence is your greatest power. Trust in it. The strength within you is boundless and priceless. When you recognise this, life becomes a gift, and every challenge becomes an opportunity to shine. Embrace your strength, and watch as you turn the impossible into the achievable.

How Shiny Objects Can Lead to Disaster: Three Ways Glimmer Captivated Me
Glimmer in limerence is the initial attraction phase. The limerent object sparkles. Because they have somehow sparked this glow of neurochemicals and arousal and desire in the limerent person. It’s like infatuation magnified by infinity.

Hello Loneliness
A lot of the time, whenever its writing whether privately or on here (through my sister’s page with her ”Dear Phoenix” letters) I use lyrics from songs to better express how I’m feeling. I’ll credit the song at the end of the article if you want to listen to the song. Warning, it is a sad song. I had my port for chemotherapy installed yesterday and I rate it a -10/10. I’ll do another article on the port and the full experience. But it’s finally settled. However I cannot lift anything over ten pounds for seven days. Which is killing me because I miss my godbabies and being able to do silly things with them. The youngest is two and he doesn’t understand that he can’t waller all over auntie. When he asks for me to pick him up I just want to cry. Cancer is messed up and it makes you feel entirely alone in a room full of love and support.

'ARTS NOT FARTS". Content Warning.
This story was written to create a scenario of life that is not perfect, but my glass is half full. This story is written as a reflection of how gaslighting folks is not cool. I did not write it out of anger or fear or hate, I wrote it out of love for humanity. I author stories, create songs to hopefully help someone along the way. I worked in nursing off and on in my life from 1969 to 2000. At the same time, I was taking care of people, I was attending college in Business, Journalism, and art.
