Misguided Help in a Tragic Relationship

The feud started when Breanna sent Whitney a message on Facebook. Whitney’s boyfriend, Sean, sent Breanna a message wanting to come to her house at 1:00 in the morning. Breanna told him “No, you have a girlfriend. Go spend time with her.” Sean failed to respond to Breanna’s message because it was not what he wanted to hear. However, that was the absolute last straw for Breanna. Her efforts to discourage Sean from sending her sexual messages and pursuing her had become futile. Breanna sent the message to Whitney that stated Sean was texting her and asking if he could come to her house at 1:00 in the morning. Breanna had already received a message from Whitney in the past and never responded because she did not want to get involved in their drama. However, she had reached the point where Sean obviously did not to care about his relationship with Whitney and was bold enough to pursue other women while he was in a relationship with her.

Breanna was surprised when she received a message immediately from Whitney. For some reason, Whitney believed what Breanna told her. Her response was that she had a feeling he was sneaking around behind her back and did not understand why Breanna did not respond to her previous message. Breanna told her that she really did not want to get involved in their relationship and she honestly thought that Sean would stop pursuing her once she told him that she had started dating someone. At first, Whitney was on board with Breanna’s messages and her attempt to right a wrong she felt had been committed against this woman.

Then, to Breanna’s surprise, Whitney began sending her messages like they were old friends. She quickly responded to Whitney and told her that their conversation was completed, and she did not want to be involved in their relationship. The conversation needed to end. Whitney could do whatever she felt necessary with the information Breanna provided, but the two of them did not need to be best friends.

A few days later, Breanna received messages from Whitney again. She trusted that things were over, and she would not hear from Whitney or Sean anymore. Breanna had underestimated the jealousy of this woman and Sean’s ability to lie to his girlfriend to cover up his indiscretions. Whitney’s messages were rude, disrespectful, and accusatory. She accused Whitney of chasing after her man and trying to fight her for this man. Breanna was taken back by her hatefulness and blame when she innocently thought she was doing the right thing. Her involvement in their relationship backfired on her like a car that has been fixed repeatedly and is still not working correctly. Whitney’s tone and poorly written messages were nothing short of rude and disrespectful. She called Breanna a homewrecker, a whore, and a slut.

Breanna responded in a respectful and responsible manner to Whitney’s messages. She attempted to explain to her again that she was not interested in Sean and was dating someone, but Sean would not leave her alone. Again, Whitney fired back at her with more insults and accusations. It was pointless for Breanna to remain in this conversation with this woman. She took her hits like a soldier fighting in a war and tried to move forward. She told Whitney that the messages were threatening and warned that if they continued, she would have to notify the appropriate authorities. After her warning, Breanna blocked Whitney and Sean on all her social media platforms.

Breanna reflected on her actions and her intentions in this situation. Even though she is kind and has much compassion for people and animals, she was not going to be the hero in this tragedy. Breanna considered the feelings behind Whitney’s words and the situation that Whitney was dealing with in her relationship with Sean. Whitney told Breanna that she had gotten pregnant and suffered a miscarriage during this time. Those words cut Breanna like a knife cut through a loaf of bread. Breanna had also suffered a miscarriage with her ex-husband and felt alone and isolated during that dark time of her life. She felt sadness and despair and could relate to Whitney’s feelings. However, she did not need to say anything else or do anything else regarding these two people.

Breanna needed to find her own peace and learn a valuable lesson from this situation. She should have blocked and unfriended Sean when he started making advances toward her. Even though she felt guilt and pity for Whitney, she should not have attempted to contact her and inform her of Sean’s indiscretions. Breanna is not the first woman Sean has tried to cheat with, and she will not be the last. Sean is a classic narcissist, and he will always care more about himself than others. Nothing Breanna does or says will change this man or help with this situation.

Breanna is happy in her new relationship and needs to leave all this mess behind her. She deserves a life of happiness, love, and peace. Who wants to be the hero in a story of tragedy and misery? If Whitney wants to be with a man who clearly disrespects her and is not in love with her then that is her business. All she can do now is pray for them and herself, accept her involvement, and move on peacefully.
