Major League Soccer represents United States and Canada's highest level of the sport. It consists of 19 teams from both countries, but this list is only the best of the best. This is the complete list of major league soccer teams that will get you pumped up to watch your favorites teams during this soccer season.

Columbus Crew SC

Based in Ohio, the Columbus Crew is a member of the Eastern Conference. Since 1996, the team has been owned by Precourt Sports Ventures LLC. They play their home games at Mapfre Stadium, which happens to be the first even soccer-specific stadium. It even has almost 20,000 seats!

The Columbus Crew has won the MLS Cup in 2008, the 2002 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, and the 2004, 2008, and 2009 Supporters' Shields. They have also even qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League.

Portland Timbers

This list of the Major League Soccer Teams is, of course, going to include the Portland Timbers. As a member of the Western Conference, this Oregon team has played since 2009 with games held at the Providence Park stadium. The team got their name from the original team in 1975, in hopes to carry the same legacy.

2013 was a great year for the Timbers, as they finished in first place in the Western Conference. As well as 2015, where the club won the MLS Cup.

Houston Dynamo

First established in 2005, the Houston Dynamo team is based in Texas. The team is owned by the San Jose Earthquakes, Gabriel Brener, Jakes Silverstein, Ben Guill, and Oscar De La Hoya.

2006 and 2007 were their first two seasons in which they consistently won games. And in the following year, they were the first team to score a goal in the CONCACAF Champions League. Just try not to get this team confused with the Houston DynamoS, which is an entirely different club.

Orlando City SC

Orlando, Florida is home to the Orlando City Soccer Club, who of course make the best list of Major League Soccer Teams. The team is member to the Eastern Conference among the MLS. The MLS team first played as a group in 2015. Their own stadium is the Orlando City Stadium, which is located in downtown Orlando, and is privately operated.

The club has sold a miraculous amount of tickets. They began their 2015 season with 13,000 season tickets sold even before playing their first match. Plus, who doesn’t love a lion with dreadlocks? The Orlando City’s mascot is named Kingston.

Toronto FC

The Toronto Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer club that is a member of the Eastern Conference. They were also the first Canadian team to join the league, beginning play in 2007. All home matches are played at BMO Field, on the beautiful shoreline of Toronto. The stadium has hosted many matches during the World Cup in 2007 and 2014.

The Toronto FC won the 2017 Supporters’ Shield, and have previously been the victors of the Canadian Championship a shocking six times.

Minnesota United

Part of the Western Conference of the MLS, the Minnesota United team deserves its high rank on the list of major league soccer teams. Only beginning play in 2017, the club plays at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Saint Paul. They were first announced to be a part of the MLS on March 25, 2015.

With a world-renowned player like Christian Ramirez (and most wealthy), it is clear as to why the Minnesota United Football Club is one of the top teams.

Sporting Kansas City

Winners of the MLS Cup in both 2000 and 2013, the Sporting Kansas City ranks among this list of the Major League soccer teams. As a member of the Western Conference as of 2015, the team was originally founded by Lamar Hunt in 1995.

They were originally known as the Kansas City Wizards. Aside from the MLS Cup, they have also won the Supporters' Shield in 2000 and the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, 2015, and then again in 2017. They also have a reserve team that plays in the United Soccer League.

Atlanta United FC

The Atlanta United Football Club is based in Atlanta, Georgia, specifically, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in which they play their home matches.

As of October 2017 the team's best goalscorer is Josef Martinez, with an impressive 20 goals. As of September of 2017, the Atlanta United Football Team had sold more than 71,000 tickets! An average game sells 48,200 in attendance.

Philadelphia Union

Part of the Eastern Conference of the MLS, this American soccer team is based in Chester, Pennsylvania, and plays their matches at Talen Energy Stadium. The stadium was made specifically for soccer games and is located on the Delaware Rever banks.

With coaching from Jim Curtin, the Philadelphia Union have come very close to victory in both 2014 and 2015, at the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament as runners-up. However, the team still reps their navy blue and gold uniforms with pride.

New York City FC

To finish off this list of Major League Soccer Teams, the New York City Football Club is a great team to go out on. Eastern Conference members, the team began play in 2015 with the coaching of Jason Kreis and then Patrick Vieira.

With Vieira as coach, the club played their first MLS Cup playoff games. They are even the third most valuable in the United States with one of the strongest fanbases in the league. After watching one match, it is clear why so many fans support the team.
