Introduction

This is just a bit of observationalism on something unexpected that happened today. I did write a playlist featuring the subject of this tale.

The music is "Fly On A Windshield" from "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" by Genesis.

The Sensible Fly

This happened because Hoovercat came demanding treats as usual. Hoovercat does not trust me and runs away when I take the treats out.

Then when I shout the door it comes back to literally hoover up all the treats, hence the nickname.

Anyway when I take the treats out I have to open the door. When I came back in just as I shut the door, a fly flew in, that then kept buzzing against the window.

When this happens I always reopen the door and sometimes have to open windows, and the fly always keeps throwing itself against the window, even though it should be able to feel a breeze from the open door or window.

I always find swatting them or spraying them very messy so tend to avoid that, but sometimes when the buzzing gets to annoying and the door and the windows are open but the fly seems to want to just annoy you, then it is the only option.

Anyway today , the fly was buzzing, I reopened the door and it flew straight out. No swatteing or cajoling, it just flew away.

To me that was like a lottery win. I cannot remember it ever happening like that. May I should buy a lottery ticket. Is today a lucky day for me?

Who knows?
