Introduction

Usually, darkness is seen as something to be feared, but love this concept of protection shared by The Enchanted Booklet of Facebook:

Night takes human form, unfolding her protective mantle of the starry sky above a man bent beneath the weight of despair.

«The Rime of the Ancient Mariner» by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

The music is "Shelter From The Storm" by Bob Dylan

The Night Protects

He had lost everything- friends, home, shelter and belief. He was alone, wondering when the end would come. Feeling naked and unprotected, at the mercy of the wolves and furies, he sat naked on the rocks.

The day was gone; twilight came, and that ushered in the night, and with the darkness came the lady of the night, opening her starred dark cloak to swathe him in her protection.

She would not see him suffer or fail, and brought her warmth and protection. He felt her care and comfort and knew that tomorrow would be another day and he would be rejuvenated.

The lady of the Night had brought him protection and given him hope.
