The Music Of The Waters
A Thoughtpiece Inspired By "Fabled Mermaid and Merman" by Albert Richter

Introduction
This is inspired by "Fabled Mermaid and Merman" an illustration by Albert Richter from the 19th-century book "Sea and Land'(1887), which was shared on Facebook by the excellent Enchanted Booklet.
The music is "Air - Suite No. 1 from Handel's Water Music"
The Music Of The Waters
If you go down to the beach and wait among the shoreline rocks, you may be lucky and get to hear the music of the waters. Amidst the waves, you may be treated to the sound of a lyre and a conch shell played like a flute.
The music is unearthly because it is played by the children of Poseidon, a mermaid strumming the lyre and a merman playing the conch.
Only a chosen few are ever treated to this heavenly music, because they will appreciate its soothing beauty.
