The Man with Two Knees

After Edward Lear

The man with two knees

Had Edward Lear wrote about the trials of painful knees, his whimsical and nonsensical style would bring a touch of humour and light-heartedness to a very serious subject. Let's muse on what he might have said:

⁤There was an old man with two knees, ⁤

⁤Who cried, "Oh, the pain, won't you please! ⁤

⁤My joints are so creaky, ⁤

⁤They're terribly squeaky, ⁤

⁤I need some relief from this tease!" ⁤

⁤He tried rubbing oil on his knees, ⁤

⁤And wrapping them tight in warm fleece, ⁤

⁤But nothing would do, ⁤

⁤Till a doctor he knew, ⁤

⁤Said, "Try this, and your pain will cease!" ⁤

⁤Now he dances and skips with great ease, ⁤

⁤Through gardens and fields with tall trees, ⁤

⁤With a laugh and a cheer, ⁤

⁤He shouts loud and clear, ⁤

⁤"Hip-hip, hooray for my knees!"

Try this and make your pain cease
